Hey this is my first post.
I saw Trey’s show last night in Albany at the Palace Theater. I don’t have the exact setlist in front of me but it was a great show so I’ll just give my take on it.
My personal highlights were the ‘Shine’ in the first set which was given lots of room to shine (pun intended) and ended up being about a 15 minute version. “Push On Til the Day” closed out the first set and had a jam that just kept adding and adding energy until the Palace exploded and Trey snuck of for a break.
The second set didn’t have as great a flow as the first set did because a few slower songs were thrown in (A nice change of pace but I wish they did it in the first set so I could finish on a note of craziness) but it had top to bottom clean jams with great swells of energy and clean changes.
The coolest part of the whole night might have been the solo acoustic medley jam by Trey which was entirely composed of tunes from the Phish catalogue (Brian and Robert - Back On the Train - Farmhouse - Bathtub Gin)
As Trey sang the high vocal part in “Tub” he got the crowd more and more involved in the singing until he finally stopped playing and crept off with the Palace-go’ers keeping up the vocals.
We sang for it about a minute with noone left on the stage, then got a little disarrayed, but got the “Tub” melody going strong and in unison again for another few minutes then they all came out and topped us off with a great “Bug” encore
Coudn’t have asked for a better show, on a better day (Just got all three nights at the Mothership!!!), with a better vibe.
Had a great time and the days can’t slip by fast enough until the time comes when I head down to Hampton.
