I’ve been listening to talk radio in the past few months. I think its mandatory for us folks over 35. ;D NPR etc. Some shows lean left, some right, some in the middle.
Maine PR has more music and a wider variety of shows. As I’ve just been getting into MPR I don’t know all the programming but on fridays there is an incredible music show called “in tune” and daily “straight talk” which broadcasts lectures by a variety of folks learned in their respective fields. Thats probably my favorite one thus far. Classical in the mornings.
NHPR is not quite as diverse and seems a bit more liberal than MPR. There is the Diane Reems show… which can be so boring you pee and crap your pants. In the evening there is the BBC broadcasts. MEHness ensues but occasionally there is a interesting story.
NPR in general has ‘Prairie Home Companion’ and ‘Wait, wait don’t tell me’… both shows very witty and funny. I particularly like when Paula Poundstone is on wait, wait.
Fox news talk radio has its full arrangement of liberal bashing right-wing hosts. Which can be pretty damn funny sometimes but some of the hosts are overboard. I was up late last night and heard this host named Phil Henry. He was just reporting various news in an adult manner, which was why he was on in the middle of the night. It was extremely entertaining tho. This station also broadcasts every Red Sox game.
Anyone else like talk radio?
