that scalper operation that they busted...

…really made it easier to score tickets via public onsale. it would’ve been awesome if this had happened before october 2008.

I must have missed the news of the bust.

I did have a relatively easy time getting decent tickets via TM this time. But, it seems like I always have an easy time getting tickets via TM. You have to be on the ball, logged in, on time, with credit card already in hand or saved under your name, etc. If you’re on top of things getting tickets via public onsale isn’t so bad.

It’s definitely better than rolling the dice with PTBM and getting lawn after lawn like I’ve seen several get.

^ Yeah I think I have to agree with you. For a while I didn’t understand everyone’s distaste for PTBM, but now I get it. I overslept terribly, and at about 1:30 PM (central time), I scored Raleigh and Charlotte pavs with no problem at all.

I think the time when PTBM is helpful is for shows like the Greek, Telluride, and Atlanta where you know the public on-sale is gonna be tough.

Agreed. I would definitely have entered PTBM lottery if I had any intention of going to Telluride or The Greek, for sure. Possibly ATL, but I may have just tried the public onsale for that one. Anyway, I personally couldn’t make it to any of those shows so I didn’t enter at all. Those high demand shows are definitely what PTBM is all about. It kind of makes me sad that people are pulling so many marginal tickets through the lottery the past two years, though.

I’m going to possibly some of the easiest shows on the entire tour - Toyota, MPP, and Alpine. Ticketfly and TM graced me with pavs for MPP and Alpine and I’m just going to pick up Toyota GA tickets on the lot.

See you guys on tour!

The scalpers were indicted by US Attorney Paul J. Fishman.

Wow! Glad everyone else was so lucky! I was first in line at a ticketmaster outlet for SPAC and got 4 lawn seats, third in line for Jones Beach and got upper level to both shows, and third in line for Great Woods and got lawn. I guess the reason they play so many shows in the northeast is thats where there fans are. It must be awesome to live down south and pull pavillion tickets way after onsale times, especially when they don’t play down there very often.

Fwiw. We got every ticket we tried for…except Telluride of course, but everything else was cake through request and general onsale. We also got pavillion for every show we wanted too. We wound up with a few extras, but not too many that our friends can’t help out with. Whatever they changed…it worked! Thanks Phish!!

Tickets were really easy to get. This is the first time since the reunion I’ve gotten anything from PTBM or Ticketmaster. Except for Hartford last year which I didn’t even get to go to. And Knoxville I got onsale. Everything else was eBay or cashforyouextra.com

Makes it a lot less stressful when you don’t have to worry about it.

edit

looks like you can still get some pavillions for charlotte and raleigh though it says partial obstructed view. i got pavilions through mailorder but i have extra lawns that i got on my sisters cared. i hope they taste good.

fwiw, I’m going to Hartford, Spac, GW, Greek and Telluride. Got Greekx3 from PTBM and the rest from TM, all pavs, all face. I had good luck this time around!

bust of the year.

Bout fucking time! I have never been able to get TM tix, not since 02 anyway…for that matter, I haven’t hit lotto either. Seems like they might have been hitting PTBM too since so many others hit lotto this time. 2500 in the onsale isn’t that much depending on the venue, but 2500 lotto tickets is A LOT. Also might account for so many people getting lawns. Bravo to the pigs!

^Yeah, they definitely hit up the lotto. There are some smart scalpers out there, who are pretty hip to the scene like this guy.

If you look at the history, the bids started at 150 bucks, which is under face (I think).

I’m not condoning this, but I wouldn’t place the blame on the seller, more so on the bidders.

^Like I said, he’s a pretty smart scalper.
