I’d like to add Geology to that one. My brother got his degree for that in 2002 and he’s been working at Lowes ever since. He’s now moving to Florida to ALSO work at Lowes. Unless you live in Colorado or wherever with tons of mountains, that degree is next-to-useless and frankly I’d say that a large majority of those mountains have already been analyzed.

i think theres a little more to a geology degree than analyzing mountains. yer brother just doesnt have the drive to work in the field he majored in. theres plenty of jobs that would require a geology degree. and if its not required im sure that knowledge could help in other fields than lowes.
Yes, I know there’s more to it than mountains (as my brother has constantly reminded me) but having that degree in a particularly flat state like Michigan really doesn’t help. Geology-related jobs aren’t exactly abundant.

My buddy took a 6 year Musical Therapy degree. After he graduated, no word of a lie, he and his fiance (sp?) moved into the treehouse in his parents back yard. Seriously, they lived in the TREE HOUSE for over a year before he finally found some work, which (lo and behold) was not in the field of Musical Therapy.

My BA is Mass Communication aka Radio, Television, and Film so does that mean I’m covered in both number 6 and number 2?

no I’m pretty much for sure not going to be using my mass communications/English degree in the near future, as I’m quitting my petty newspaper job by the end of the summer and going a different direction.
It really doesn’t matter, as long as you can find a job that makes you happy and that you can live somewhat comfortably with.
