The 2008 National Football League Thread

almost time for the Redskins to lay a beatdown on the Steelers. Big Ben is going down!!

^^^disregard that last post

why? disregard this post?

you were absolutely right.

Big Ben did go down and the Redskins looked strong.

they just forgot to score any points.

Well the Colts evened their record at 4-4 after beating the Patriots on Sunday Night Football. Props goes to Bill Belichick aiding us in this victory. I’ve never seen him coach so poorly. New England had no timeouts entering the 4th quarter and then he second guessed himself by kicking the field goal to go for the tie instead of going for on 4th and 1 at the Indy 7 yard line. Really surprising. We’ll take it though.

Anyways I see the Colts finishing 10-6 and squeaking in the playoffs. You never know what can happen in the playoffs so I’ll hold out hope. But anyways here is the breakdown.

Pittsburgh–Loss…There D is unbelievable. The blitzing schemes always confuse us. I wonder if Big Ben will be out. Still probably won’t matter. If they do win here it would be huge.

Houston–Win…Schaub Out…See Week 5 for Rosenfels

San Diego–Loss…Although it could be a shootout the Colts maybe win, but history is not on our side. We never beat the Chargers.

Detroit–Win…nuff said

Cincy–Win…nuff said

Cleveland–Win…Crennel might be fighting for his job, but Brady Quinn? You really think he’s ready? Might as well get him some reps.

Jacksonville–Win…Should have won the first game. Del Rio and Mike Tice might be two of the worst coaches I’ve ever seen step on a football field.

Tennessee–Win…Last game of the season…Fisher helps us make the playoffs by putting in Vince Young and resting the regulars like we helped him last year.

There you have it 10-6. I even think if Big Ben is out we might have a chance and I think we have a chance in that San Diego game, but I’m being realistic.

^haha, always gotta love the “look at their remaining schedule” outlook from fans of the team

consistently a positively skewed viewpoint. I’m not saying the Colts can’t go 8-2 to finish, but I’ve never seen any fan opine “I see us finishing 2-8 and not making the playoffs.”

and you bash Mike Tice? pffft. Tice rulez.

Go Culpepper!!! YEAH!!!

Mid season awards!

MVP-Portis (and honestly Kurt Warner is giving him a run for the money)

Def PoY- Haynesworth (some are considering him for MVP as well)

RoY- Matt Ryan (the Boston College system has him at least 3 years ahead of the curve( honerable mentions for Chris Johnson and Matt Forte)

Coach-Jim Zorn ( i for one did not expect them to by into his system so quickly and so successfully)

Best mind-fuck:

Dolphins Wildcat offense!

Or the Browns UFO defense?

Dolphins vs. Browns in AFC title game

you heard it here first.

^Titans will win the AFC and the Cards in the NFC…

10 games left in the season Hank? 8-2? How is that possible in Week 10? ::slight_smile:

Mike Tice owns #2 Pencils…That’s about it.

don’t roll your eyes at me!! that was just an example. I didn’t even think about what week it was.

and I would much rather have Tice as Viqueens coach than Chili, any day.

Maybe he meant they’ll finish the regular season 7-1.

Sneak in at 11-5 as a wild card.

Win opening weekend, then fall in the divisional playoffs.

That would end them at 8-2 over their last 10.

Just kidding, he’s not smart enough to have meant that.

no, I didn’t even read his whole post. I just saw what he was doing and went with the example of 8-2.

and I definitely smarter than you Neil, so watch yo back.

Brandon Marshall and Joey Porter going back and forth…haha!

“Dancing in night clubs with his shirt off…like a girl.”

You’re excited for Joey Harrington V2.0? I’m telling you, QBs with low percentages in college NEVER work in the pros. EVER. The dude was overrated in college and is overrated now.

I love this too. How do you think the Jags liked their schedule three weeks ago when they saw they had Cleveland, Cincy and Detroit three weeks in a row. They’re 0-2 so far…

Yeah! Lay off the pencil in the ear!!! Tice could eat you.

Anyone else getting sick of teams having these stupid names for when they simply just line the RB up to take the snap? It’s been going on in high school and college for decades and now everyone in the NFL is acting like it’s some new and amazing concept and teams give it’s own name. It was cute when Arkansas had an adorable name for when McFadden would line up at QB but now it’s just getting ridiculous. Make it stop.

And seriously…why are NFL defensive coordinators being fooled by this stuff so often?..It’s classic high-school stuff…apparently none of these NFL coaches ever watch high school games.

LOL. Ah, the Lions. They never cease to amaze. I don’t mind the signing since I guess it’s no big deal if he sucks since we can just cut him but there’s news now that the dude may actually START next week since Orlovsky’s thumb is injured. The dude hasn’t played in nine months, will have three days of practice and will start??? Ladies and Gentlemen, YOUR 2008 Detroit Lions. Let’s just say that I’ll be starting the Jax defense in fantasy this week…

Stevo

Ummm… yes, I am excited. Derek Anderson was our starting QB.

Quit trying to know everything.

Willo

Joe Flacco will lead us to the promised land…

^^
Fightin’ words!

Joe Flacco is an OK QB in my book. He’s no Matt Ryan, though…
