Why am I rooting for SD? because my team is not in the playoffs and I like picking teams for the playoffs just for fun, since I live in LA they’re close enough.
Watch them beat Pittsburgh as well and the Ravens will beat Tennessee, you heard it here first…
Carolina will beat Philly and Arizona will lose to the giants
I gotta say I was surprised by the Chargers!!! The Co’ts had been on a roll and a severely limited LT and no Merriman spelled tough sleddin’ for the Charge today, but you gotta love Darren Sproles, even though he’s basically invisible below all the linemens’ heads.
cripes, what a shit-show of a game though. I was so drunk and disgusted at the game. Just a complete waste of time. I still had fun getting hyped for the game beforehand, and first half was fun. that place was SO loud in the first half. Loudest I’ve ever heard.
I feel so let down, and I feel like it’s all for no reason. I wish we would’ve went 4-12. Another year with chilly will seriously be unbearable for me. I hate him.
^Sorry we did not hook it up… That being said, all game long I was like I hope if we lose we get tossed hard, this way Ziggy can see what a meat head Chilly is…
Sad really, his press conference was like, “Yeah chess game this, punt and field position this, blah meh…”
I HIGHLY dislike his coaching style… What is it with him, get a QB and let us move on…
Well, it’s better than your team going 0-16. And then your stupid, lazy and senile owner keeping the same GM and president who have been here for the last eight years simply because he’s too tired and lazy to orchestrate a real search for a good GM. Then the owner not wanting to pay a lot of money for a coach so we’ll likely get yet another lame duck coach like the last one. You could have all that happen instead.
But hey…at least the Twins owner keeled over…maybe the Twins will actually…you know…SPEND MONEY and actually make it past the first round of the playoffs. Let’s hope that Ford Sr. is next in line. Yes, that’s right…I’m cheering for the owner of my football team to DIE because I’m convinced that the only any real change will ever happen. It’s morbid and I don’t care.
So, please people…stop bitching about your playoff team. You could have a team who just fielded the worst team in history with the worst coach in history that was built by the worst GM in history and is owned by the worst owner in history. You could have a team that’s had ONE playoff win in 50 years, had the best RB in history QUIT when he had the rushing record in sight because he couldn’t take it anymore and have fans that actively cheer for the owner to DIE. So, please…count your football blessings, yes?
Sorry about that…anyway, aside from the Chargers game, most of the Wild card games were duds. Maybe it’s me but I have a VERY hard time picking first-time-in-the-playoffs QBs to ever win a game. So that’s why I couldn’t pick Matt Ryan or Joe Flacco to win. Of course, when you have a team like the Ravens who asks the QB to do NOTHING than I guess it don’t matter.
Not surprised at all about the Falcons. Matt Ryan’s a rookie…he made bad throws and actually made the horrible Cardinals D look GOOD which is not easy to do. Against any of the other NFC Wild Card teams, the Cards probably lose that game. Oh well…
Nice of the Dolphins to call the worst game I’ve ever seen. They won all year with creative play-calling, trick plays, high school lineups and constant misdirection. But then they were SO intimidated by the Ravens D that they didn’t even TRY all that stuff. How pathetic. And Pennington should win another Comeback award for the comeback of the BAD Chad Pennington in that game. Nice to see him back.
Either way with both the Falcons and Fins, I’ll be surprised if either makes the playoff this year. Both those teams have “flash in the pan” written all over them and teams took them lightly all year. Next year, teams will be ready for them.
As for the Vikings it’s two words: Tavaris Jackson. You guys didn’t REALLY think you’d win that game with T-Jack at the helm, did you? The dude CAN’T THROW THE BALL!! And he’s a pocket passer!! Anyone else confused by that? And the Eagles didn’t even play that well at ALL. Vikings defense did what it could but when your team goes three and out for the entire second half, there’s not much you can do.
As for the Colts…I’d rip on them for abandoning the run like they do every year in the playoffs but they never had a run game in the first place so I can’t. I guess they decided to just abandon the run in Week 1 and get it over with. Either way, Fee said it first…you just can’t win in the playoffs without a run game. Even the Chargers had a BAD day passing the ball and Rivers was pretty bad but they could still hand that thing off for big plays. And, man, is there anyone in recently memory that’s faster than Darren Sproles?..not just the speed but the acceleration too. Dude is crazy fast. I would legitimately give him some money to join my team next year…his speed changes running and screen plays completely and he can return kicks for you too. As for the Colts, anyone wonder if the fact that they took Week 17 off had an effect on them?..They did the same thing last year, then had a bye week, then lost to a lesser Chargers team. Now they do the same thing this year! If there’s anything we saw from the Giants last year its that you should still try to play your guys in those Week 17 games!
After all, look at the Home teams this week…The Giants, Panthers and Steelers all played their guys and tried to win the games they were in. The Titans didn’t even play anyone, didn’t even try to win and haven’t needed to win a game in weeks. Who wants to bet the Titans come out totally flat in their game?
Either way, I pick all the home teams to win this week except the Titans. I hate picking a rookie QB to make the AFC title game but they can do enough to hold down the Titans and eventually Kerry Collins will remember that he’s Kerry Collins and piss away the game when they need him.
