This is so true. Even when Cleveland has a team that is even remotely decent the smacktalk is ridiculous…and this despite that they haven’t won a major title in any sport since like the 50’s. Last year was especially obnoxious since they were laying into Detroit for both the Cavs knocking off the Pistons and the Indians beating out the Tigers…and yet have nothing to show for it. How those teams doing now? And I kind of like the Browns because I feel a kinship with them since our two franchises have been so bad but the smacktalk is just silly.

Sadly, Fee, I don’t think Frerotte is the answer but he’s still better than Jackson…he can at least THROW the ball and get it into the endzone. He’ll throw some picks but he’s gotta do better than that. FIVE field goals against the Colts? You get ONE of those in then you beat the Colts. Good Lord…

As for the Lions game…ug. I stuck with it after the 21-0 lead especially since in the 2nd half it was hard to not notice that the Pack wasn’t doing ANYTHING. And once we finally took the lead with Calvin Johnson’s awesome TD run, I was thinking in my head “The Lions fans NEED this” especially with all the talk of the potential blackout and how all the fans need a win so much after last week. And then Kitna (who my Mom says was paid off in the parking lot) just decided to piss the whole thing away. The first pick I can understand since he was trying to force it to Calvin (he threw a bullet pass and should have thrown it in the air) but the other two were just a joke. My brother compared it to when you’re playing Madden and you’re losing at the end of the game and you just start throwing stupid passes and every one of them gets returned for a pick-six…it was like a video game.

Well, Chili announced that T-Jack is getting sent to the bench, and Gus Ferrreerrotte (sp? :)) is now our starter.

I’m happy for the outlook of this season. Unless Gus has lost all ability, he is just what this team needs. A steady, pocket QB who can hopefully take care of the ball, be a calm leader, and MAYBE THROW ONE TOUCHDOWN PASS PER GAME. /venting.

but I was almost hoping Childress would continue being a stubborn idiot and play T-Jack 4 more games until the Vikes were 1-5. Then at least we could get Childress out of here and start a new coaching era ASAP. Because I have absolutely no faith that he is the coach that will take us to the Bowl.

I wondered how long it would take for that to happen. 2 games, apparently.
All they need is a solid QB and they’re among the favorites to win the NFC. Without one, they’re just you’re average NFC team w/ a great D and RB. They should bring back Culpepper.

my Redskins survived a close game against the Saints. We needed that win badly. Now we play the Cardinals which should be another victory, but I checked out the stats and the Cards are surprisingly putting up good numbers, so it might be a tough game. I still expect the Skins to take them out. Man, that Dallas/Philly game was a crazy back & forth game. Did you see what DeSean Jackson did dropping the ball at the 1 yd line trying to show off? What a moron. Whoever had McNabb or Jackson on their fantasy teams had to be pissed at that play lol.

we’ll see. I’ve already become really bitter about this season anyway. I’ll just laugh it away if we go 3-13. I’m just waiting for the next coaching regime to begin at this point.

Heh…Gus does the same act every time. He’s good as a backup and then he’ll start, have a great game and everyone will say “Why was this guy on the bench all the time?” Then for the next four games, everyone will learn just WHY he was on the bench. He’ll give you a TD a game but then throw three picks a game to even it out. With that said, he’s STILL better than “T-Jack” since at least defenses will have to respect SOME passing and won’t stack 11 guys in the box to stop Peterson.

Kyle Orton? Really? Kyle Orton? I sat down to watch a few plays and I saw the third sack followed by a horrible throw-away in opposing territory for an interception and a touchdown. I like football and living in the sprawl north of Chicago makes the Bears my default team. For the brief time that I can remember, the Bears have never had a star quarterback. Sure, Jim McMahon had the position when they won the Super Bowl long ago, but we all know it was the rest of the strong team that made that possible. What makes a team absolutely unable to find a good quarterback? It’s been even harder living near the border of Packer country when they have a great quarterback for years and years. I wish him all the best in NY.

EDIT: No, wait…he just got his first passing touchdown. Nice job, Kyle. You threw it for a touchdown. Very good. We’ll stop at McDonald’s after the game.

So Im the first to say that Tom Brady is the best football player on the planet and Matt Cassel just doesn’t cut the mustard…I know I’m a bit of arogant pats fan (I have had the privlage of watching the best footbal player in history for the last few years) and now I can honestly pass the throne (till tommy returns)…beaten by th fins, un acceptable…jints?vikes?fins???parady reighns
