^ When Trey played the Beatles, Who, Talking Heads, Velvet Underground or Pink Floyd did he have the same exact guitar tone as those original albums?
Feature article on Jambase.com includes an interview of Tim Palmieri.

no booz, he didn’t. I’m not trying to insult the breakfast, they did an incredible job. I’m just saying that that many people discount trey’s tone as a part of what makes phish incredible, and don’t even think about it. In this recording, the difference is made very clear.
two ts 9’s, some compression
he plays a strat. can’t get that tone out of a strat. just can’t.
well you can replace the single coil with hum’s, but you won’t get the sustain from a solid body like that of a hollow, but you can get very close, but the dude isn’t going to change his rig up for 8 or 9 songs
u’d be suprised what you can get out of a strat
oh i was just talking out my ass as usual. no disrespek to the strats. or the breakfast. or minorities in general.
For anyone interested, they are doing a radio interview right now. You can stream it here. Hour long show that will feature them playing some songs too.
It
Man, what’s with Bass players lately?
Ben from Tea Leaf Green quit.
Now this guy.
Sorry to hear Booz, I know you like these guys alot.
I’m kinda pissed I missed them when they came through Chicago.
Oh well.
Here is what they’ve announced so far for the next couple months. More to come in the near future. Apr 02-04 doesn’t make sense with Philly in the middle so I’m not 100% sure on that run of shows.

Fargo to Philly to Chicago?
That is so ridiculous. That can’t be right unless they are flying.
Do they have a plane yet?
Givin’ Fargo more love!!
nice.
Is this the new bass player or the old one’s last tour??
i think it’s the new one now.
anyone know how well he’s fitting in/learning songs, etc.?
i actually skipped the show they just played at the Troc last Friday to go see Prism on 9th St. instead.
we saw the Blueman Group and it let out at like 10:30 (fucking quality!!! a little stuffy/all seated/family atmosphere etc. but cool as hell) so we headed to the Troc cuz we figured our homies would be there. we text em, get a parking spot RIGHT IN FRONT of the Troc, we’re just about to head in, then they text back sayin they’re at Prism…
Prism was fuckin good too and i don’t regret goin to see em, but now i could use some Breakfast. STAT!!!
The new bass player is fitting in nicely so far. There are a couple shows on etree if you’re interested.

Apparently there is a bar in Minnesotta that’s also called the Trocadero Theatre. This is where the breakfast will be playing on Apr 03 [Thu]. Sorry Jamphandan, but they’ll be back around you way in the near future.
that’s cool…i wasn’t getting my hopes up with that one.
they’ll be back around soon enough for awesometown. i think i’m gonna hit that up. local 2 day festy for 40 bucks…
I’m pretty sure I’ll be at that festival. Can’t go wrong for $40.
I’ll be at the NYC show for sure.
booztravlr, do you know anything about timmy tour for this season? lemme know when he’s in Pleasantville again!
He will be in Boston on the 26th but that’s the only date outside of CT for February. I’ll let you know when the March dates get posted.
The NYC show is at the reworked Lion’s Den. The night before is at the Donegal Saloon in Kearny, NJ which is less than 10 miles from the Lion’s Den. If you’re looking for something to do it’s not much further away. I planned on going to these shows but I have some relatives coming to town for mine/grandma’s bdays that weekend so I had to bail, unfortunately.
