the breakfast Fall Tour 2008

Midwest Shows Reminder

I’m heading out to Albany, Rochester and back to Syracuse this weekend for a 3 night run. If you live in upstate NY def come out to a show or three.

Go to this LMA link http://www.archive.org/details/pb2001-12-07.shnf and listen to tracks 7 and 8 [Jam > Mooboo’s Voodoo (Episode 2)] and tell me that intro jam isn’t some of the best improvised music you’ve heard. Crank it up, sit back and listen to it all the way through. It’s streaming so you don’t have to download anything.

Bump For This Weekend:

Sep 27 - Chicago, IL
Sep 28 - Moorhead, MN
Sep 29 - Madison, WI [FREE]

Friday is going to be whipped tittays.

I think Cornmeal is on the bill too, which I thought was odd.

I’m not sure who they are.

If you’re looking for some warmup music before the show check out the show they played in Syracuse last Saturday. Daaaaaaamn it was good. Second set bring the heat.

I never have cornmeal before the breakfast!

HOLY CRAP!! Scratch that! Umprey’s McGee is coming to Michigan!! It’s a MIRACLE!! I’ve never heard a bit of their music but I might just go simply because they’re a jamband with the balls to tour in Michigan! WOOOO!

Stevo

But you’re talking about “really good” jambands. UM doesn’t count.

actually I haven’t heard or seen nearly enough UM to diss them, but I’m just rolling with it because its kinda fun.

Fuck yeah, its just sinking in that this show is happening tonight. Gonna be a kickass time, and I found out Cornmeal, which is a fast-rising bluegrass group, IS going to be playing as well. Hopefully it doesn’t take away too much set time from teh Breakfast, but Cornmeal is good too.

My buddy is also dragging me to a hippitus-hoppitus show around 6. I’m always skeptical about rappin’, but I suppose I have mad respect for dank MCs.

Sounds like last night’s show was solid. Have a good one!

thought/reviews from anyone who went?

Yeah, I haven’t heard a lick of them. Maybe I’ll go get a cheap live album somewhere and check them out. I’m more pumped that they’re actually coming to Michigan. No one ever comes to Michigan.

Stevo

Definitely a good time and fun show, but I think I liked last year’s show better. The new keyboardist isn’t a perfect fit yet…probably just needs more time. But yeah, fun, spacier show than last year.

I met Tim and hung with the band in their van before the show. :sunglasses:

The weird thing was Cornmeal played first, and a lot of people around here like them. The crowd was definitely a bit bigger during Cornmeal. I liked their set too, but I think The Breakfast got kinda short-changed by all the bluegrass people.

^ Did Cornmeal play Naive Melody? They play that shit fucking right on.

check this shit out

Attention all Northeast and especially Vermont oh kee pah members

If you don’t have anything to do on Saturday, October 27th I suggest you head to the Higher Ground for the 9th annual Fonghoulish Freakout. Rumor has it this year the breakfast will be playing an album in its entirity. I guess you could say they will be paying tribute to a local band if you catch my drift. On their last two visits to Burlington, a certain bass player was in attendance and seen hanging around after the show. Hopefully third time’s a charm! No matter what’s going on, I will be in attendance and hopefully you can to.

so are they covering a phish albumn? Junta? I’d love to see somebody try that one, or Lawn Boy. That would be a sick show to attend, but I won’t be traveling up to Vermont, so here’s hoping the recordings are sick.

::interest piques::

somebody should have the balls to do that.

I’d like to hear it. You better hook it up if it does happen, booz.

This show will def be recorded. I’m guessing by at least a couple people.

The second set (cover album) will be…

A surprise! Not sure if I can say it yet. All I can say now is it’s only a 2 set show.

It’s a reach but I know Mike Gordon has been in house the last two times they have played in Burlington. It would be amazing if he sat in for some of the second set.

I’m not sure how I’ll be able to find the cash to do it but I will be at this show as well as the one in Northampton, MA the night before.
