dammit i gotta reply, haha…
though i usually find myself pretty much on the same page with john stewart philosophically, not to mention the guy’s just hilarious…this is a dumb statement for him to make. why? because these words are coming from two different people with two different mindsets, therefor giving those words two different meanings altogether. they speak to two different “bases” as well. you can’t deny the meaning or the flavor given to these statements are about as different as night and day. this isn’t fluffing Obama, it’s just pointing out that what john stewart just said is a vast oversimplification of things. just my .02 cents.
okay. lets let this die now before we get a big ol thing goin.
John Stewart in this clip is SPOT ON correct. NO CHANGE, more of the same
I did like him two nights ago where he mocked the Republicans for putting a black guy as the head of the Republican Committee. “Look! We can go black too!!”
Ah, such mockery…
Stevo
^shouldn’t the “Look! We can go black too!!” mockery be against the Dems for nominating Obama after Condy Rice and Colin Powell?
weak tits remark
Perhaps, but the discussion of those same ideals isn’t why there won’t be change. For that answer, we look at who really runs this country. (I’ve noticed from various threads you’re informed on this)
politicians always say things that are vaguely similar no matter what their party is. However, that doest mean their ideals are the same. Honestly if you ask me I found nothing wrong with what was said even if it did bare similarities to what bush said and it was an oversimplification. To say obama is going to be the same as bush as a politician because of some things that are said in a speech regarding our allies and terrorism is ridicluous because if you’ve seen other politicians talk they seem to have the same rhetoric as well. Claiming that we shouldn’t be ashamed of our virtues and give up what makes us american isnt neccessarily a bad point. What worries me is how the actions will turn out and how obama will handle this issue (hopefully with a more human and moral approach) When politicians talk about freedom and fighting terrorism it always kind of sounds the same because for the most part alot of them agree that we do need to seek out our enemies and embrace our freedoms but its how we do it in which they differ. This is definately funny but kind of mute point.
wow.
you mean Barack Obama is…a politician!!!
never saw that one coming.
wow.
you mean Barack Obama is…black?
I thought he was Samoan.
