I’m kind of in the uh, not the best song ever camp on this one. It is an amazing piece of music, yes. Trey used to absolutely destroy this tune, yes. But when I’m listening to a show and Divided Sky comes on, I either skip to the next song, or fast forward to the ‘good part’ (where Page comes in with those banging chords and the guitar solo starts). If they start it up at a show I’m at, chances are I’m heading for the pisser
granted I’m usually back for the good part. I don’t know why but for some reason, all of the other composition tunes seem like each part flows from one to the other and the ends don’t make sense unless you listen to the whole thing. Not with this one. I can skip all but the last 5 minutes of it and still get the same feeling at the end.
I also agree with Jeff. It would be waaaaaay sweeter if every body got perfectly quiet and stood perfectly still. Now THAT would be some shit.
