MUSKEGON, Mich.-- A federal judge has ordered the temporary seizure of all proceeds from the Rothbury music festival that would have gone to the Double JJ Ranch.

The ranch near Muskegon was the site of last weekend’s event that featured performances by the Dave Matthews Band and Snoop Dogg.

U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney in Kalamazoo issued the order Wednesday in response to a lawsuit filed a day earlier by a Minneapolis bank seeking to foreclose on the resort.

BankFirst is seeking $18.7 million from Double JJ for an unpaid construction loan.

The Muskegon Chronicle says the judge has rejected the bank’s request to appoint a receiver to manage and control the resort, although that could happen at a July 18 hearing.

A telephone message seeking comment from Double JJ owner Robert Lipsitz was left Friday at his office.

It seems appropriate that a festival of that magnitude of epic-ness and perfect-ness would only be a one-time deal.

but obviously I hope its not true.

Shit…I don’t think that means the end, maybe just a change in venue for next year.

Hey, if it’s called the “Double JJ” ranch then is its real name actually the “JJJJ Ranch”?

That’s a lot of J’s.

i doubt this is real. I mean, i’m sure the story is real. I just don’t think there was a judge who made that ruling. Probably just some guy trying to scam them.

i mean really. Who would believe that there’s a real town somewhere name Kalamazoo?

so orders the judge of Kalamazoo to his jury of oompa-loompas in the magical candy room

please

LOL! Nice one…

I actually heard a rumor on the last day that the future plans for Rothbury were to move it around every year to different locations, all around the country.

but rumors are usually poppycock.

Thanks, but make sure you capitalize next time.

Slacker…
