Gotta go with Roth for the poll. Perhaps if you all had put some thought into this Roth would have been your decision! Here are some raw facts. No other band on that list has had a more eagerly anticipated reunion than VH. granted some of these guys are dead but excuses are a turn off for me. For a good portion of the 70’s Roth’s name was thought to be Van Halen! The name of the band is in honer of the drummer and guitar player and the focal point of the band is the Fromtman! Not to mention we share a cousin by marriage and i met him at her Bat Mitzvah and is a cool dude. Shalom Diamond Dave!

Holy shit!! You’re right!! I actually had the joy of seeing him a few years back and even at the age of 55 or whatever he lit up the room…though I’ll admit the show was more about his fantastic band than just him. Still just hear one of his old recordings when he was young and crazy…he could carry a whole song with just his voice as he made up lyrics. Listen to Live at the Apollo and you’ll see what I mean.

I should note that I only voted on a front man’s LIVE performance and not whether he wrote any of the music or whatever. I’d agree that Morrison wouldn’t be the greatest since he really only wrote lyrics, but based on him live he’s number one…but only barely.

I went with Freddie - the Live Aid performance pretty much puts it to bed. You think Jim Morrison could have done that?

I thought it was a good poll. To all htose who don’t like it, start your own. I also hold true to the ‘frontman’ a guy in a band who only (or mostly only, eg Vedder) sings, so Iggy, Marley, Bruce, Gerry, et al, don’t count!
