“The film is a classic good guy versus bad, set in the ultra competitive arena of vintage arcade video gaming. The game in question is Donkey Kong. Longstanding champion Billy Mitchell is a vain and odious piece of white trash from Hollywood, Florida, but he’s the biggest star in the universe ruled by self-proclaimed governing body, Twin Galaxies. Unaware of any of the politics, along comes Seattle’s Steve Wiebe, an all around nice guy, who breaks the record but is then cheated out of it by Billy and his cronies. I won’t spoil the ending, but whether or not you have any interest in video games, it’s really a captivating story.”

I know a nice guy named Steve Wiebe…I don’t know where he’s living now…I wonder if it could be him. He was a big enough geek that he could be into competitive vintage gaming…whatever the fuck that is.

Billy Mitchell is the guy who played a perfect game of Pac Man a few years back and wrung every bit of self publicity and minutes of fame he could out of it.
