^I saw that. Seemed weird but the band played it very well. I’d say it’s about the ONLY thing that Illinois did well in that game. Even worse is during any USC blowout, the announcers run out of things to say so the entire game becomes one long Pete Carroll ass-kissing show. It’s ridiculous. Aside from Brett Farve, no one gets his ass kissed by the national media more than Pete Carroll. I especially love when they called him a good “game time coach.” Look, he makes some great teams but I can’t remember him ever making any adjustments in a game ever aside from maybe passing some more. Apparently these announcers forgot about his various coaching meltdowns against Texas a few years ago or his entire career in the NFL. By the way…LAST year before the season, USC was heavily favored as the #1 team, then screwed up against some lesser teams and missed the Title game, then looked great at the end of the year until all media was blowing them constantly, destroyed a Big Ten team in the Rose Bowl and was favored as the #1 team at the start of this season. Now THIS year?..USC was heavily favored as the #1 team, then screwed up against some lesser teams and missed the Title game, then looked great at the end of the year until all media was blowing them constantly, destroyed a Big Ten team in the Rose Bowl and will likely be favored as the #1 team at the start of next season. Go figure…
And seriously, Penn State people…why did everyone get in some stupid uproar over a frickin MALE cheerleader making some stupid casket comment about Joe Paterno? Is anyone supposed to care what a male cheerleader has to say? And who the heck films a pep rally anyway? That whole story was retarded.
The Florida/Michigan game was probably the best game I’ve seen so far…just lotsa fun. I couldn’t cheer for Michigan of course but I’ve got to say that I didn’t mind seeing Tebow get taken down a notch or two. How funny that when he had to actually drop back and pass like any normal quarterback, he couldn’t do it. Hmmmm…
