The Official 2007 NFL Thread!

Even though last night’s game was boring on so many levels, I watched a majority of it. The sole reason being I wanted to see what kind of wacky shit would happen in those elements.

Looks like my persistence paid off - there was a punt that landed on the field and didn’t bounce a single inch. It just went splat and was engulfed by the field.

I was rooting for the Dolphins big time.

I enjoyed the game last night.

Hated the outcome though, of course.

Best part was I got some HDTV and DVR just yesterday… so no commercials for me!

We’ve got 2 MARQUEE games this week in the NFL.

GB @ Dallas (on NFL Network, unfortunately)

JAX @ Indy

NYG @ CHI

Actually, overall there are some really good games up and down the schedule. A lot of games have division/playoff implications.

Combine that with NCAA football weekend filled with conference championship games, should be a doozy!

The Browns seem to have a very easy rest of schedule.

Arizona, Jets, Bills, Bengals, 49ers…

I’m starting to smell 12-4 ;D

Arizona and Buffalo are the only games that might give them fits.

They can win the other 3.

The Browns at 10-6!?

I’m calling Ripley’s.

FUCK THE NFL NETWORK!

AND THE BIG TEN NETWORK!

FUCK!!!

Well i am working tonight but have sirius! So i’ll be listening to this game!

Sounds like someone needs to get DirecTV.

You bastard.

Not that I am a Packers or Cowboys fan, or even a fan of the NFC, but I would definitely watch this game over anything else that was on tonight. If I could, I would. But I don’t know how.

Well the Colts hung on to improve to 10-2 and take what amounts to essentially a 3 game lead over the Jags in the AFC South.

The AFC South has been in existence for a total of 98 weeks (since 2002). Of those 98 weeks during the NFL season, the Colts have lead the division 91 weeks.

You can bet your sweet ass I’m rooting for the Bungles tonight. A loss to the Steelers drops them 2 behind the Colts.

Also, one more thing…

The end of the Bill/'Skins game. Buffalo is lining up for a 51 yard FG with a few seconds left on the clock. Joe Gibbs calls timeout to ice the kicker. The play sets up again, and they call ANOTHER timeout. I was unaware that it was illegal to do that. But you’d think an NFL coach - or at least someone on his staff - knew the rules. 15 yard penalty. 36 yard FG made, 'Skins lose a heartbreaker.

Ouch.

Okay…I’ll do it:

“Detroit Lions…REEEEESSSSTTT IIINNNN PEEEEAAACCCEEE”

There we go. Wow, that was bad. I can’t even talk about it. Where do you start? Nice work, Vikes. They’re looking better every week.

Stevo

Browns got screwed.

I said it.

Touchdown Winslow!

From the rulebook:

“A pass is completed or intercepted, or a loose ball recovered, if the player inbounds would have landed inbounds with both feet but is carried or pushed out-of-bounds while in possession of the ball in the air or before the second foot touches the ball inbounds by an opponent. The player must maintain possession of the ball when he lands out-of-bounds.”

It was an incredibly tough call.

But I do agree that the force-out rule should exist.

I take this back!!

The Vikes are back and comin’!!! The team no one wants to play!

Chili is reaching deep into the bag of tricks, Tarvaris is finally looking like he’s improving, our running game and run defense are both the best in the league (A.P. rookie of the year fo sho! Did you see that shimmy-shake on Kenoi Kennedy second half yesterday?? Jesus that was sick)

Bam!

I’m always guarded about having optimism with the Vikes, but this team is really turning it on at the right time. If we can beat the lowly 49ers on the road next week and then beat da 'Bears on Monday night at Metrodome, were pretty much in the playoffs for sure, and I’m not really afraid of anybody in NFC if we continue to play like this. yeah, we lost to GB 34-0 just a month ago, but this team looks so much different now.

OBJECTS IN YOUR MIRROR MAY BE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR, NFC!!

you heard it here first folks!

Christmas weekend the winless Dolphins are going to go into Foxboro and beat the shit out of the undefeated Patriots and the 72 Dolphins will smash a champagne bottle over Bill Bellicheck’s cheater grumpy jerk head.

its gonna be sweet.

^that would be unbelievably sweet

but its not the first place I’ve heard it. My friend is a huge dolphins fan and it has been fun as hell watching her suffer this year.

For me, this would be my second-favorite sporting moment of 2007.

Geez, the spread for the game tonight is hovering around 18 and 19 points.

The underdog is a team that HOSTED a second-round playoff game last year, too.

Their offense won’t do much, which is vital, but their defense is too proud to be pushed around in their own building.

New England 24
Baltimore 14

My Bengals are horrible. I cried last night.
