The Browns won more games tonight then I thought they would all season.

The Browns won more games tonight then I thought they would all season.
;D
i just hope the birds make the playoffs
word
i think that’s all we can hope for this year
we’re gonna win 10 games. guransheed.
PATRIOTS!!!
i’m predicting at worst a 13-3 season. and that’s being pessimistic
I like your optimism! I wanna be wrong this year. Please let me be wrong!
i heard the Lions just signed David Beckham for $33 million.
^ sources?
some asshole.
LOL. That sounds great. He’d HAVE to be a better CB than Fernando Bryant.
Ah…the Lions…where to start. My official prediction is that they’ll be so good that the Lions will have DOUBLE the wins they had last year. It’s a lofty goal, but it’s possible.
Seriously, I’m a jaded Lions fan so I never think they’ll be good but I don’t see it. All we hear about is the Greatest Receiver Ever (that’s my nickname for Calvin Johnson since that’s all anyone ever says about him) and the Mike Martz offense and this and that yet no one wonders about our horrible O-Line and the weak run game. Kitna’s never gonna have time to get it to the Greatest Receiver Ever because he’s gonna be sacked 30 times a game. (Heaven forbid they address an actual need by drafting Joe Thomas).
Even worse, the linebackers are too banged up and too inexperienced (except for Ernie Simms…he rocks) and the cornerbacks are a complete and utter joke. Start your fantasy receivers against the Lions, guys…it’s gonna be a free for all.
I think the games could be more exciting, but the same problems are still there. And yet despite all this, I’ll be there on the couch pumped and ready for every game. I need help.
By the way, my Super Bowl pick is the Pats over Philly in a rematch of 2005. My sleeper playoff-team-out-of-nowhere is Washington. And yes, I pick the Pats to win it all every year. I don’t care…they’ve won me lots of money.
Stevo
Yup.
They will destroy every team in their division.
Most likely get a first round bye and make it to the NFC Championship game.
After that, its anyones guess.
Their Super Bowl Championship depends on the arm of whoever is their Quarterback.
As far as my other team, Pittsburgh Steelers.
I think with the new coach, expectations are down.
Which is a bad mistake if teams forget about them.
They are only 2 years removed from the Super Bowl, ALWAYS have a great defense, and a great young quarterback.
They play in a tough division though. The toughest in the NFL for sure.
We shall see. They looked good in the Hall of Fame game, but that doesn’t mean shit.
I hate the pre-season.
Let’s get this season started!
i wouldnt consider washington to be ‘out of nowhere’ as ive read/heard many analysts picking them to make a deep playoff run. if they can get consistency in their offense they will be a solid team come january.
the afc north is a physically tough div but they only got one team into the playoffs last year. plus, i dont think a div with the browns can be considered the toughest in the nfl (sorry will). same goes for the afc west with the raiders. the most well balanced div is the nfc east. they may not produce a team with the best record in football but each year those 4 teams beat the shit out of each other, get more than 1 team into the playoffs and always get picked to have at least one team in the nfc championship game. here is their playoff inclusion totals for this decade. they average slightly under 2 teams a year. [13 in 7 years]
2006 - 3
2005 - 2
2004 - 1
2003 - 2
2002 - 2
2001 - 1
2000 - 2
the afc north may have won 2 superbowls this decade but using that logic youd have to say the afc east is the best div based on the pats 3 superbowls.
go colts.
^The NFC East is overrated.
And a bunch of cream-puffs.
Seriously.
Philly sucks and so do their fans. Donavon McInjury is done.
Dallas=America’s Team? ;D ;D ;D Yeah, right. Run, Romo Run.
Sure you’ll make it to the end zone.
Giants, Ugh. How long can one team & a city be cry babies?
Washington. This is Clinton Portis’s year again right?
They play NO defense, have no running game, and squeak through the horrible NFC.
Making the playoffs in the NFC is as easy as Paris Hilton.
I’d take Baltimore, Pittsburgh, & Cincinnati EVERY time over those Girl Scouts.
And by the way, using your playoff totals.
The AFC North has sent 2 teams to the playoffs every year of the 2000’s except 2. Just like the NFC east.
So that doesn’t mean anything.
^ Correction.
Counting last year, the AFC North totals are:
2006-1
2005-2
2004-1
2003-1
2002-2
2001-2
2000-2
I don’t know what that means though. Nothing really.
I just want football to start.
its a really slow day at work…
i dont want to get into a debate but here are the div win totals since the new ones were formed in 2002:
2006

nfcn average - [144/5] 28.8 - 7th
nfcw average - [144/5] 28.8 - 7th
this shows the afc’s dominance over the nfc (im sure everyone is in agreement here) but also puts the nfce over the afcn by 5 wins. now does that mean theyre better? no, but they average 1 more win each year as a div than the afcn.
def agree with you here!!
the Bears will have a let down.
Every team that loses the Super Bowl the previous year does.
and that IS some solid logic, backed up by history!!
nfc south is toughest of the nfc imo
Really? I haven’t seen any like that…I thought it was a legit team. Of course, with the advent of the internet, there are NO sleepers since somewhere, somehow there’s some writer making some bad prediction. The biggest sleeper that I’ve heard is the 49ers which I can’t buy if only because everyone is picking them.
Also, it’s funny that there’s a rant about the overrated NFC East because that’s a big reason WHY I think Washington could be a sleeper. Dallas is gonna take a step back…they have solid D but Romo’s gonna fall back. Giants are on a downward slide and I don’t buy Eli at all. Philly I think will be good but Donovan could easily get hurt again. I could see Washington sneaking in…especially if they’re done relying on Mark Brunell. Ug.
And yes, it’s a LOCk that the Bears have a letdown. They could still make the playoffs and all since the NFC North is that bad but it may not be as ugly as they say. They can NOT keep hanging around with that little production at QB. Watch out for Green Bay guys…that team was a lot better in the second half of last year…I like what their new coach is doing. They could surprise folks.
Stevo
the NFC always produces 2 or 3 really dominating teams and then a bunch of other teams that suck balls.
but since nobody’s mentioned by home division (the AFC East), i’d like to point out that it has a reputation as the most competitive division in the league.
maybe not last year, or even the year before, but most years before that.
there’s rarely a team with a huge impressive record but there is also rarely more than a 2 or 3 game difference between first and third place.
not like some of the NFC divisions where the second place team will be like 7 games back.
so the Dolphins don’t suck, they’ve just got it rough.
