The Official 2007 NFL Thread!

^^^LOL! Nice one.

Of course, have you seen the massive hupplah by Cleveland fans and ESPN over Brady Quinn’s little preseason performance? I saw that game…Cleveland has NOTHING to be excited about…that team looks BAD. As for Quinn, if they didn’t notice, the Lions were playing this deep prevent zone for the entire time he was in because the Browns had no timeouts so the Lions didn’t want to be beat by a deep ball and wanted to make sure to tackle the receivers in-bounds to keep the clock moving. SO basically every receiver had a 15-yard cushion to catch balls so it made Brady Harrington look like Joe Montana. Of course, to his credit, even Brady said that any QB could have done what he did after the game.

Seriously, that Browns hupplah over Quinn looks VERY similar to the hype we had years ago for Joey harrington. VERY similar. Be afraid, Brown fans…be very afraid.

For one, I don’t think Brady is the answer.

And as long as the Browns beat the Steelers, that is as good as a Super Bowl victory ;D

Bizzity Bizzity Bizzump.

There are only a handful of matchups that could kickstart the NFL season better than tonight’s Colts/Saints game.

The Hoosier Dome is gonna be rocking tonight!

Prediction:

Saints 34
Colts 38

Heck yeah…I’m totally pumped for tonights game. Yessir, that Louisville/Middle Tennessee State game is gonna ROCK.

Seriously, I’m pumped for the game and for ANY NFL games…especially after the excrutiating preseason. I’m even pumped for the VERY exciting Toilet Bowl with the Lions at the Raiders…nothing better than the two worst teams starting off the year against each other. Of course I’m convinced that the Lions will lose since they always lose games that they’re supposed to win. Even better, they have former Lion Josh McCown starting. Since basically EVERY former Lion always gets sweet revenge on the Lions after they leave the team (ex: Harrington and Artose Pinner in 06) I firmly believe that McCown will throw for 400 yards with 200 of those yards going to Mike Williams. It’s classic Lions. Here’s to six wins!!!

Wow.

The Colts were in complete control of that game last night.

Of all the Colts games I’ve watched start-to-finish, that might be the most dominating game I’ve seen them have (on both sides of the ball) since they shellacked Denver in January of 2004 in the AFC playoffs at the Dome.

Yeah, it became clear that Nawlins had no clue what they were running. I was completely baffled at some of the play-calls, especially some run plays in some VERY strange situations. Plus it seemed like they tried some sort of reverse run or spread-offense pass on every play. I don’t even remember them throwing the ball for more than 20 yards in the entire game. How weird. That Louisville/Middle Tennessee State game that I was kind of making fun of was FAR more entertaining…it was a bloody scorefest. There were 5 TDs in the first four minutes!!

reggie wayne dom’ed for my fantasy team

I lucked out…I was only playing against Olindo Mare who had a whopping 4 fantasy points. Of course, I get to play against LT…that should be a treat…hopefully that Chicago D will slow him down. It’s weird…I have my two RBs, my QB and two WRs ALL playing on Monday Night…that will be a stressful evening…

Stevo

WOOOOO!! THE LIONS WIN!!! Just end the season now!!! Seriously that was a fun game. They were up 17-0, had a fine collapse so the Raiders led 21-20 and the rallied back. Kitna had some pretty sweet plays and the passing game definitely looks solid. Of course…it’s the Raiders but I’ll take the wins where I can get them.

Other things:

-Wow, Farve looks bad. Real bad. He couldn’t do jack crap that entire game. THe Pack only won because of two muffed punts by the Eagles which could have easily been avoided. Not good

-And the Harrington era begins in Atlanta. My favorite is how Olberman was making fun of Joey’s super-positive comments after the game about how they can take positive things from that game despite just scoring three points. Plus I read somewhere in an Atlanta article about how Joey holds onto the ball too long…I couldn’t even finish it. It’s so funny how all these classic Joey quirks are noticed now…but no one ever noticed it in the FOUR YEARS HE WAS WITH THE LIONS. It’s so funny. By the way, Joey scored more points for the Vikings than the Vikings did. But don’t worry…Joey just needs to be in the right system and he’ll succeed…MWWAHAHAHA

-That Brady to Moss tandem looks SCAAARRY. Brady’s had no problem getting the ball to lesser receivers…now he has Moss. Watch out, AFC.

-I’m pleased. I only had three fantasy players play on Sunday and I’m only down by 21, and that includes against LT. This is good.

I may be close to the perfect football weekend. There are five things that must happen for that: MSU wins, Lions win, Michigan loses, Notre Dame loses, my fantasy team wins. I’m 4-4 so far.

Pats looked supa-dupa-schweet. Now we might be able to outlast the Colts in a shootout.

Looking forward to giving my buddy crap all year long about the G-Men…er…G-girls. I put the over/under for wins at 5. Too high?

yeah…go falcons

Not in Indy in the Dome.

I hope both teams are undefeated when they meet later in the season.

Vikes looked pretty good yesterday. Definitely happy with the win. Our defense will be able to keep us in almost every game. Our offense just needs to be sufficient, and we could make the playoffs, possibly even win the division.

Me too. ;D

Well the Cincy/Balty game was pretty entertaining, IMO. I still think the Ravens are going to have a good season, maybe go 10-6. The Bengals might win 11 or 12 games.

The second MNF game…did anybody east of the Mississippi stay up to watch that game? I know Mike & Mike were doing the game and wanted to see a little bit of it, but the prospect of watching the 49ers and Cardinals just turned me off completely. So I went to bed.

^Mike and Mike and Ditka should be full time MNF announcers

Well, Charlie Frye is now on the Seahawks.

That trade came about two years too late.

Oh Browns…

gonna be a dandy in Foxboro Sunday night, i’m thinking the Pats don’t mess around and put SD away early, 31-10.

When Quinn the Eskimo gets here, everybody’s gonna jump for joy!
