Yeah Colts! I was down in TN over the weekend to see a friend and go to the Colts game. This is the sixth year I’ve gone down there (first 3 Bonnaroo, last 3 Colts game). Middle Tennessee is an awesome place if you haven’t been there.

All the talk in the offseason, preseason and now the regular season has been about the Patriots. I don’t know how but it seems like the defending champs are under the radar somewhat as if they have already been written off to repeat.

Damn I can’t wait for the Week 9 showdown in Indy!

Let’s see…we’ve got my 2-0 Lions going on the road to play 0-2 Philly who has looked like total garbage in their first two games. I’d say it’s looking good but I keep reminding myself…IT’S THE LIONS!!! Seriously…it’s kind of surreal around here…

Yes, especially when you get to watch the Vikings offense on a weekly basis…they remind me of the Lions during the Mariucci era. Of course, speaking of losing, now at least the Lions get to lose in EXCITING ways!! Like Donovan flinging bombs to Kevin Curtis and Brian Westbrook breaking 57 tackles on every play for touchdowns. Now those Lions…THEY know how to lose.

The amazing thing is the Lions are likely going to get creamed by every above-average QB they play this year since they’ll easily find the open spots in the zone…but how many above-average QBs do they really play??? We’ve got two against the Bears, two against the Vikings…then we’ve got the Giants, Redskins, 49ers, Cardinals, Broncos, Tampa Bay…ALL with shaky QBs!!! That’s enough to get in the playoffs right there. Can’t the Lions outscore ALL those QBs??? Yeah, it’s crazy but it gets you thinking. Looking at Sexy Rexy last night, I still have hope for Detroit since they play the Bears next. Our defense is horrible, but you can’t tell me they can’t just outscore some of those teams.

WOOOO! GO LIONS!!! Here’s to more false hope!!!

I’m already predicting that the Lions blow up Sexy Rexy and get a big lead and then Griese comes in the second half and then lights us up for 250 yards and 3 TDs for the win. Why? Because that stuff always happens to the Lions. Two years ago we saw Chris Weinke stage a game-winning drive to beat us…CHRIS WEINKE!!!

What no NFL talk today? The Giants took a little bit of the sting out of the Mets collapse. 12 Sacks in one game!?The defense after halftime of the Redskins game looks sick after a terrible start to the season. I still wont get my hopes up too much. But its starting to look much more promising.

Seriously…34 frickin points in the 4th quarter. That Lions/Bears game was nuts. Both teams left endless amounts of points on the field with turnovers. Either way, the Lions win so I don’t care.

-Other things: Why are the Cards screwing around with this duel-QB system. Matt Leinart sucks and there’s basically no reason to even play this dude. Roll with Warner cuz believe it or not, the Cardinals have a shot

-Leave it to Norv Turner: LT has 130 yards on like 20 carries in the first half and he completely goes away from him in the second half…bloody amazing. The crowd was chanting “Marty.” Seriously, they should just call Marty up and BEG him to come back. Just do it…it can’t get worse.

  • Oh…and Brian Billick is possibly the worst play caller ever. McGahee is racking up yards but this guy NEEDS to call pass plays for no reason even in completely obvious running situations. What’s that? We’re on 1st and goal with 1 yard to go?? PASS!!! Sheesh…

-Fantasy update: I’m down by 6 but I have Welker, Watson (Rudi’s backup) and Shayne Graham going against Chad Johnson. Anything could happen tonight.

-And say what you want about Farve, but I give it to his coach. Ever since they fired Mike Sherman, that coach has gotten Farve to totally cut down on his game-killing gunslinger interceptions. It shows in their success this year, especially with an improved defense.

-I don’t mean to alarm anyone but the Raiders and Lions are both leading their divisions. God have mercy on our souls.

every moment of all 3 iggles games i’ve seen has been despicable (i didnt get to watch the lions game)

i almost didn’t care about their ineptitude (sp?) thanks to those Phightin Phils…but it still hurts to see themn suck so bad, even on the best day in my phillies fan career

oh yeah, fantasy update: i’m up 20 points and the other guy has calvin johnson…could go either way…

And yeah…I was screaming at the screen during the Eagles game last night…“Hey Donovan, why couldn’t you throw incompletions like that against the Lions???” “Hey Westbrook! Why couldn’t you sit out the game against the Lions!!?” “Hey Kevin Curtis, why couldn’t you drop passes like that against the Lions!!?”

Jerks…

Of course, I played against Curtis in fantasy so his no-show was much appreciated.

I won my fantasy game yesterday and i don’t know how. First of all i drafted Steve Jackson, Andre Johnson and Deuce McCallister. So of corse after last week i figured my season is toast. But even with the stupid decision to play Rivers instead of hasselbeck my replacement players came through! Edge looks to be back sort of and he hooked me up with 14 points yesterday. Gates and Driver had mediocre days but still had some points. But really Deion Branch and Santonio Holmes won me the game. Luck was also against the guy i played. He had Harrison and Mcnabb. One left the game injured and the other layed an egg. Mcgahee and Alexander did not do much to help his cause either. So far the Don Corle Ho’s are 3-1 and look forward to S Jax and Andre J comin back so we can stampede to the championship and big $$. Go Ho’s!
