The Official 2007 NFL Thread!

I agree. I’m a defense snob so I love Jacksonville and they always give Indy fits especially at home. That Jax crowd should be packed in and loud.

In fantasy, isn’t it great when the highest fantasy guys on your team are Wes Welker and Kenny Watson. It’s just a beautiful thing. 5-2 and going strong. (Well, I’m not 5-2 yet…the guy I’m playing has Peyton and Vinatieri but I’m up by 60).

And GOOOOOOO LIIIOOOONNSSS! That game was another game where you’re not sure how they won, just that they did. Tampa had TWO monstrous drives that each had like 15 plays and sucked 7-8 minutes off the clock and both drives came up with nothing (missed field goal and fumble). Just awesome. And it’s nice for the Lions to actually RUN the damn ball with Kevin Jones. The run was dominating all day…it was sweet. 4-2 Lions!!! I’m still holding my breath! We’ve got the Bears on the road next week.

And you guys can say all you want about the Dolphins, but holy crap the Rams are worse. They’ve got every recipe for disaster. No run game, no defense, a horrible coach, no O-Line and injuries galore. They don’t have a chance in these games. Wow.

And Tavaris Jackson may be one of the worst QBs I’ve ever seen. They’d be better off just direct snapping to Peterson on every play…I’m not kidding. They would.

Hey, the Browns didn’t lose this weekend, nice!!

Check out this Jags fan during the second half of action last night. I laughed out loud.

The Colts looked real, real sharp last night. If they can play well next week and the Pats take care of business we’re looking at one of the all time hyped-up regular season showdowns in history.

Which leads me to wonder what the line on that game will be if both are undefeated…

I couldn’t even begin to tell you the last time Indy was a home dog. The Patriots are hot, but the Colts have had their number in recent matchups.

I’d say between now and then I don’t see the line going past 3 in either direction.

wtf is that prop that guy had with?

I don’t get why anyone would have that thing at a football game. Pretty damn funny though.

I believe it is something they handed out to everyone.

I saw a bunch of them being waved by a lot of the fans.

Either way it didn’t appear to help the Jags, but alas it was good for a chuckle.

People acting like idiots on live TV is always priceless.

Yeah, I was watching the FSU/Miami game and they gave these kids these balloon seminole spears or something…or maybe it was the Rutgers fans. Either way they looked ridiculous waving those around and you KNOW that half those guys were wacking each other with them. I remember me and my brother had a frickin WAR at a Pistons game with our thundersticks…just brutal attacks on one another with dual-thundersticks in each hand. How we survived, I’ll never know.

And I’ll guess that the Line will be Colts (-2) vs Pats. Colts are favored because they’re at home but lose the point since the Pats look better.

I knew it would happen sooner or later!

A Phish reference on “Mike and Mike in the Morning” during the Stone Cold Lead Pipe Locks.

Usually in the middle of the segment they cut away to their producers Liam and Joaquin doing something dumb. I heard “Riker’s Mailbox” playing and then one of them asked “what is this?” and the other said “It’s ‘Riker’s Mailbox’ by the band Phish from their album Hoist.” Apparently, according to them, “unique situations call for unique selections.”

Neat-o.

Has anyone seen/heard of the 1920’s guy (reporter)?

It’s pretty humorous:

He calls himself “Scoops Callahan”

^ That is fucking great.

Would have been better if they could get someone to keep a straight face and not stumble over the words though.

wait, are those like those Coors Light commercials?

Or is this guy for reals?

^
Yeah, the VY one is stumbles over “smelling like roses.”

Overall it’s great to see some humor injected into sports interviews.

My favorite one is the Belicheck one and the asshole ignores the question.

And Mack Brown doesn’t even flinch!

I think the Vikes can beat the Eagles this week at home, but really, I have no idea and I’ve given up on speculating about NFL games beforehand.

Too much can happen, and I’m a Vikings fan, which really means ANYTHING can happen to ruin the game.

Is this entire sentence an oxymoron?

haha a little bit I guess

change “think” to “hope” and it makes a bit of sense.

FORWARD DOWN THE FIEEEELD…A LIONS TEAM THAT WILL NOT YIIIEEELLD…

Seriously, basically a dominating defensive game by the Lions. Griese had no idea where to throw, he had defenders in his face all day, Benson couldn’t run for crap, Hester barely even saw the ball…it was all good.

Now the Lions have swept Chicago are 3-0 in the division and 5-2 overall. I don’t even remember how to react when the team does this well. I’m confused and frightened to even start to get optimistic about this team since I’m scared they’ll lose some more.
It’s like Bizarro would here in Detroit. I’m scared…someone hold me.

GOOOOOOO LIIOOONNSS!!

(And loooose Packers…they lose tonight, Lions in first place! Holy crap!!)

The Roar has been Restored!!

Damn good game last night.

Well, entertaining at least.

Woulda liked the Broncos to win then da Lions could be tied for first in the North.

Oh well.

GO LIONS!!!

I’m still having trouble grasping the fact that New England is favored BY FIVE at the home of the undefeated defending Super Bowl champions - a team that has also won the last 3 match ups against them.

But sometimes the boys in Vegas know things we don’t.

Patriots will win by 14 and the Colts won’t win another game this season.
