Well…something can be good and overrated at the same time. As much as I love the song Hey Jude by the Beatles, I’ll admit it’s overrated. Just because there are so many better Beatles songs that I never get to hear on the radio…does that make sense? Same with Zeppelin…they’re good (I suppose), but there are just some better bands that I’d rather hear on the radio instead of Led Zeppelin over and over.
^^but…my balls.
I’m glad to see that everybody is an agreement for the hatred for the Geico caveman commericals
yeah, at first it was pretty funny, and I almost felt bad for the caveman character. Now I hate him and want him to quit whining. Yer a fucking caveman, deal with it.
yeah he’s a fucking complainer. I bet back in the day that pompous, arrogant caveman got his ass beat by the Neanderthals for constantly saying how smart he is. Nobody likes a show off
red pubes! don’t feed them. red pubes! don’t need them. red pubes! over-rated.
chang-CHANG-do-do-ch-ch-chaaaang-chaaaaaaaaang-chang
repeat.
That’s your problem right there…you’re judging Zeppelin based on their radio play. I HATE how most stations play Zeppelin. I swear, if I have to hear “The Ocean” played on the radio one more time, I’m gonna scream. The radio always plays the weaker tunes like The Ocean, Stairway, Black Dog, Rock and Roll, What Is And What Will Never Be and other not-so-great Zeppelin tunes. (I feel the same way about Queen…why the hell is “Killer Queen” and that “Ooo, You make Me Live” song played so fucking much??)
Dude, if you don’t have them already just get the Zeppelin albums…not the greatest hits…the FULL albums and listen to them through. There’s some true masterpieces and I truly feel that EVERY album they have is a “greatest hits” album. Classics like “The Battle of Evermore” “In My Time of Dying” and almost all of Zeppelin III never get played on the radio and those songs are far superior. Zeppelin is definitely NOT overrated.
By the way, what’s the big difference between the “caveman” and a real person? Just shave the beard and you’d look just like another guy. Those commercials need to end, though, for some reason I like the motorcycle one if only for the cheesy 80’s music they play in it.
Though, I already addressed the Beatles being overrated in another post. They’re great but not “changed the face of all music of all time” great. Plus them not being a good live band at all hurts them in my book.
Stevo
Well, in their defense, the Beatles only toured for 6 years.
Hell, they were only a band for 10.
They were, in fact, bigger than Jesus.
I didn’t even read that part…they are the only “changed the face of all music of all time” good band. And they were the best live band at the time, they just didn’t play live. It’s not their fault though, they just didn’t make soundsystems that could handle the type of venues that the Beatles needed to play at the time. Youtube the rooftop concert though…even just Don’t Let me Down adn tell me they’re not a great live band.
The New York Yankees. They are always #1 in payroll, and haven’t won a series since right after Phish went on hiatus… and they repeatedly overpay for veterans past their prime, had their best year(s) before joining the Yankees, or just plain overpay… Pavano, Giambi, Abreu, Boggs, Brown, Burnett, Texieira, Chacon, Clark, Clemens, Contreras, Coomer, Damon, Ensberg, Embree, Hammond, Erickson, Mussina, Gooden, Leyritz, Gordon, Greene, Hawkins, Johnson, Justice, Karsay, Lawton, Leiter, Loaiza, Mientkiewicz, Myers, Olerud, Orosco, Osuna, Quantrill, A-Rod, H-Rod, Sabathia, Sexson, Sheffield, Sierra, Strawberry, Sturtze, Tartabull, Vasquez, Whiten, Wohlers, Womack, Wright, Zeile… d’oh!!
