The Phish Album "___" Most Reminds Me of the Season of "___"

I have this curious fascination of Phish albums as a whole - from start to finish, whether they’re considered any type of “concept album” or not - reminding me of the various seasons of the year.

For example, Round Room typically reminds me of winter and springs forth images of freshly fallen snow, etc. Yes, lyrically that makes sense, but just the mood of the album, too.

SOTG is a fall album. Its dark, hypnotic grooves fit perfectly with the shortening of the days and the fall-like activities (bonfires, leaves falling).

Lawn Boy is a spring album. Its playful lyrics and bouncy music remind me of the transition from the winter doldrums to the sunshine of spring…flowers/plants blooming and the days getting longer.

What other studio albums remind you of the certain seasons of the year?

Approximately…

Billy Breathes - Fall
Farmhouse - Winter
hoist - Spring/summer
Joy - Spring
Junta -   winter? maybe?
TMWSIY - :lolno:
Party time - Spring
Picture of Nectar - Can work for any season probably
Rift - Fall
Round Room - Winter
Siket Disc - Fall
Story of the Ghost - Fall
Undermind - Winter, probably because of the Specimens of Beauty DVD
White Tape -

Hmm, seems like most Phish albums give me a Fall/Winter feel. Summer feel is probably more associated with shows. I like thinking about this for non-Phish albums.

Most of 'em summer.

SOTG & Round Room = Winter

Farmhouse - Autumn
Round Room - Winter
Undermind - Spring
Joy - Summer
Party Time - ALL YEAR IS PARTY TIME

Those are the only ones that came out when I was aware of Phish… so yeah.

Rift reminds me of fall…I could tell you the story, but it’s pretty lame.

Ghost, Billy Breates, and Joy all remind me of the fall because they were released in the fall and that’s when I first heard them. Likewise, Round Room reminds me of N. Carolina because that’s where I was living then. Most of the emotions/memories that they’re albums evoke in me have to do with how/when I first heard them.

Never thought of Phish CD’s in terms of seasons. I remember them as to what was going on in my life at the time and how the lyrics related to my particular situations… But I guess if I had to match a CD to the season, I’d match Undermind with Winter b/c of Army of One, Billy Breathes and Rift as a fall

This is exactly how I am, too. Which is also precisely why Round Room is and always will be my favorite Phish album.

I remember when Slip, Stitch and Pass came out I must have listened to that Weekapaug about 200 times. What a smokin version!
