the shnfamily phish hub

shnfamily, the guys who bring you all the tour projects on etree, have set up a new p2p site. i’m not familiar with DC++ but it sounds like an interesting way to share music. the community hosts all the content communally (users all donate 1GB of space) and you never have to worry about seeders or dead torrents. check out the details here:

When I was in Dayton, Direct Connect was incredibly illegal. We still used to do it, and got BLAZING fast speed between other people on the UD hub. I used to get movies/albums/just about anything you could want on your computer…

However, it was quick because we were all using the same internet connection. I think I tried to use DC for the reason zoot mentioned, and it is incredibly SLOW.

I remember having a show downloading for about two days and it was only up to about 20%. Try it if you would like, and if you can get a good speed, let me know how!

So, in order for this to work we must keep the show on our HD?

I delete all of my shows after I burn them and put them on my MP3 player or poratble usb.

You need a certain amount to share before they will let you even log on.

So you constantly need 1GB in order to even search the lists (I believe).

yea thats right. i used it once over the summer. it took 3, maybe 4 days to finish one show. its incredibly slow to download, and you cant always get connected to the people with the most shows. i prefer etree to that direct connect hub.

I finally figured this out a long while ago thanks to aug.

Figure it out, and you will not need to ISO a Phish show ever again.
