The Sopranos

find a new guitarist for Bruce Springsteen

I have three scenarios…

I think it could have something to do with Carmela. They’ve made this house thing with her such a big deal in the show and her such an integral part of all of this that I can see her going to the cops to “save her family”. Plus there always seems to be foreshadowing in all the prior episodes, and even Tony told her " families don’t get touched", so what are they gonna do if she flips? Kill her? Plus she was always so concerened about what happened to Adrianna.

or…

Tony has pissed off a very unstable AJ for a long time now, and the whole series has been nothing but an illustration as to how much of a fuck up AJ is. All of the illuding to family being your downfall and all of that, plus all the airtime AJ’s illness and paranoia have gotten in these last few crucial episodes sets him up to do somethign crazy like kill his dad or go to the cops. I wouldn’t be shocked if that happened.

Either that or Tony will flip to save them…he’s been growing weary of the mob life for awhile now… it’ll give him more time to plant his tomatos.LOL. I can see that happening but I don’t think the viewing audience will be happy with that, or anything shy or Tony getting whacked.
Whatever happens, there’s gonna be a twist, and I can’t wait to see what it will be.

As long as Phil gets killed, I’m happy.

I don’t see Carmela turning on Tony though. They kind of had that moment of discussion the other night about what she needs to do and after a few minutes she pulled her shit together and said “Ok.” This is a scenario the Soprano family has been waiting for for a long time, and I think Carmela will know how to handle it.

I don’t understand why Sylvio would be in a car without a gun on him when he knew there was a hit on him. Digging through a bag in the back seat to find a gun caused his downfall.

You gotta feel bad for Bobby too, he just wanted a train.

^^ Oh I know what you mean… poor Syl, I’ll mss him. You know it’s a great show with great writes when they can make you sad that a gangster and a murderer dies and you feel compassion for him and his family.

I just hope that nobody kills Paulie. He was always my favorite.

You guys know that Sylvio isn’t dead yet, right? They made a point of keeping him at least partially alive. They must have some other plans for him.

This ep was absolutely great! You guys are right on about the progression in quality of episodes and with this past one they are about to explode. Its almost as if they wanted a giant buildup and purposefully tanked the end of the last season just to build up energy and quality into a frenzy. I particularly liked the scene where Melfi severs ties with Tony. The absurdness of her complaint that Tony defaced her magazine, their reversed roles, and then finally the last shot which recalls the end of the Godfather. Only for this brilliant scene, the director inverts the relationship and puts Melfi in the power position with Tony peeking through the door like Diane KEaton’s character staring in at Michael Corelone. This is another brilliant bit that pays homage to the Godfather (the tomato plants a couple of eps back, among others).

I love the Sopranos for many reasons. This ep managed to combine all of the great attributes of the show for a near perfect episode. Let’s just hope their swan song is half as perfect.

the raging bull mock was great too

and i don’t understand why syl didn’t have body armour on, shit if a hit was out on me, i’d rock some kevlar and a machine gun of some sorts

^^Yeah, you’re right, Sylvio is still alive. But Paulie was saying that they didn’t expect him to wake up. Only 1 episode left, that could be all for Syl.

The finale is a 2-hour episode, right?

No, it is in a regular time slot I believe.

Bastards.

They originally were going to do a 2-hour finale. This was a long time ago that I heard about it, but I’ve never thought twice about it since then. A lot has to happen in 61 minutes.

^lately it’s been more like 41 minutes.

stupid writers.

I kind of wish I hadn’t read this.

I can’t tell if this is real or not, but it’s a synopsis of the last episode. It sounds like it could actually happen.

NOTE - This contains possible spoilers!!

4 1/2 hours…

T-minus 1 hour and 11 minutes.

WHAT. THE. FUCK.???

I was partially right. The FBI guy gave up Phil’s location.

Good Godfather reference with the orange.

I had it on caption, and when the SUV ran over Phil’s head it said “popping noise.”

Then the kid puked.

I laughed out loud.

WHAT THE FUCK???

Whats your deal??

worst episode EVER!!!

I like checking out the Wikipedia recaps.

Here is the “episode recap” someone put:
