in his book he says that when he was sworn into the Senate he had family there from Chicago, London and Kenya i think. Kenya, i believe is in Africa and Chicago may or may not be in America. London doesn’t count. Therefore - African-American.

Yes, he was born in Hawaii. His mother was from Kansas and his father from Kenya. They met in Hawaii I believe.

The speech.
Basically Bush and I are thinking alike… what has become of me hangs head
No seriously he laid out what it would mean to lose this fight in the middle east and what the “Islamic State” would like to achieve. You may not like what Bush is about but he speaks the truth in that matter. What I didn’t totally realize is there are TWO radical islamic groups with basically the same goal insofar as the destruction of America and are duking it out for middle east supremacy… for crying out loud. Then you have the fledgling democracies, which we support, trying to gain control as well. Be sure how it turns out in the middle east will affect us all. This is why I’d like to see our country involved in bringing about peace… if it is possible.
But the buzz word of the day seems to be UGH.
On another note I was highly surprised by his ambitous goals of weening America off foreign oil and reducing our oil consumption by 20% in 10 years. He laid out many means to achieve this and I thought it was quite progressive and aggressive. One point many will have issue with is his policy of wanting to tap into our own oil reserves… which I’m pretty sure means drilling in pristine wilderness like Alaska etc. But, ya know, we can’t have it all… we can’t have our oil (supplied by the middle east) and keep our pristine land untouched too. Hopefully they can produce oil in places like that without ruining the environment. He also mentioned many alternative fuel programs which he wants congress to fund… bio-fuel, ethanol and the like. This is very important.
