I grew up with a kid that lived on the Rose property for years and years. We grew up in those woods. It was our Eden. The picture of the cliff is the same spot where we’ve had many drunken hoorahs and watched many fireworks go off over the Tennessee River. I miss that place. I hate to see this shit happen to an absolutely gorgeous place. This was definitely the most beautiful area in Knoxville.

It’s all about avarice and greed.

same thing happened to me actually…not too long ago.

driving…with the girlfriend…rolling through the ghetto…over near the krishna temple…yeah theres one of those…in detroit…in the ghetto…you know those bastards you see on tour handing out the “bhagavad ghita” for free…then they ask for five bucks…blah blah blah…yeah those dudes…their temple…in the ghetto…in detroit…it used to be in the Fisher family…like “body by fisher”…whatever that means…then they gave it to the krishnas or some shit…ANYWAYS…i was driving there with the GF…and i was showing her where we went for 4:20 everyday after school…high school that is…it was a huge tract of land with the lake on the east…a canal on the south…the temple on the west…and a road bordering ghetto on the north…all trees…and weird pits with garter snakes in them…and frogs…and monarchs in the right seasons…and other insects and animals and…and…and…so i pull up to where all sorts of huge trees and twisted fences should be…and…nothing…my jaw drops…im silent…every single fucking tree…every THING…gone…piles and flat sections of sun burned ochre colered earth.

not a soul to be seen.

huge machines…silent.

stillness.

i closed my mouth…had a lump in my throat…seriously bordering on nostalgic tears.

it was gone.

they fuckin “wonder yeared” my ass.

but yeah…lets take a horrible horrible city and take one of the remaining tracts of undisturbed trees and plants and animals and all that good shit…and ruin it.

why not?

i’ve been watchin the wonder years lately, it’s back on the ION station or someshit at like 10 pm, good stuff, sucks you lost your trees and wilderness neck, they be tryin to chop the trees down in my area all the time to allow more rich bastards to move into my town, and i don’t want these damn bastards moving in driving their mercedes, bmw’s and shit, stick to the burbs, this is the sticks, don’t make it into the damn burbs, thats why i live here b/c it’s the motherfuckin sticks, deer sleep in my backyard for a reason you rich assholes, god i want to burn their mansions down.

people are our own disease to this fuckin planet, i really feel that there are way too many people on this planet for it’s own good, but it’s okay, b/c in the long run the planet is gonna bitch slap our asses and send us all back to our maker
