It’s happening to me too.
And I as well. I haven’t noticed it only happening when going past a post of mine but I have noticed it will happen on the same spot on the page when it happens. It has actually become quite a pain in the arse as it basically freezes my internet right up for a minute or two. I have been blaming it on my crappy computer because it seems worse after updating a few things.
Happening here too, also I have to change the bottom tab to ‘descending’ every time… 
whew, I thought i was the only one…
I thought it was just becuase I was at work, but i have taken my laptop home, and same thing happens there.
Speaking of the ‘whew’ I used to start this post…shouldn’t we have a ‘smile’ that is that?
I see it being a face that is sweating, a hand appears and wipes the sweat away fro the forehead, and you can see to water fly off of his hand at the end.
Just a thought.
Hey man, I just poked arounf a little bit, and may have a solution for you.
If you go to ‘user control panel’ and click on ‘Board Preferences’ on the tabs at the top…and THEN click ‘Edit Display Options’…you can adjust in what order the threads and posts are displayed for you.
My thought is that if you set up YOUR setting to display the posts in decending order, every time you log on that’s what will happen…
however, if you just make the adjustment in a post…maybe that only affects, or is it effects, that thread for that specific time you are logged on.
i could be way off…but i could be right on as well!!!
this always happens to me too…using different computers, and most often it seems when there are pictures posted in the thread…(ex. Miami NYE Confirmed thread in the Rumors section ALWAYS freezes on me).
not sure if the above suggestion will help me or not, but i’ll def try it out! thanks for the input!

i’ve been having this problem for a while but it’s primarily happening to my work pc and not the macbook that i use at home.
i’ve noticed that the problem mainly exists on a page where there are a lot of posts by members that have animated gifs as avatars. i’m not sure if that could be the problem or not. either way, delayed scrolling blows.
