I concur. I’ll be happy when he officially leaves office but I’ll be even happier when his ass is in jail.
i gotta hand it to the old boy…catlike reflexes. i’ll give him that much.
This whole thing is great. I love how Letterman says that’s the best dodge Bush has had since Vietnam.
The other thing I was thinking about is the guy who threw the shoe. Does he not realize that life is better there for him now? If Saddam was in power this guy would have been shot already! That’s how Saddam rolled.
^Yeah, that’s the craziest thing about freedom of expression. This guy throws a shoe at the guy who removed the guy who would have never allowed him to express himself in that way.
Basically, all of those Iraqi civilians and US soldiers who were killed and wounded over the past five years allowed this guy his moment in the sun, and he felt relatively safe to take this action. It’s really part of what these people died for, and so the cycle is complete, the point and worthiness of the effort came home to Bush with this one action.
It’s what makes the act so profound. And his calculation will pay off once he’s released from Iraqi military custody. Letterman and O’Brien will pay big bucks to have him on their shows, and I’m sure he’ll have a book deal shortly if he doesn’t have one already. Not a bad gambit.
I wonder if he’ll share that wealth with the relatives of the dead Iraqis. Now THAT would be a bold move.
I’m perplexed as how that guy threw two shoes before the secret service jumped on him. I mean, what if he had something seriously dangerous?
btw, good one jaw… “i mean really… who throws a shoe?” LOL!
LOL!! Hilarious.
And to be fair, Dubya saw the guy coming the whole way…it seemed pretty easy for him. Say what you want about Dubya but he’s probably more athletic than most presidents.
The best part is the guy who threw the shoe gave a note to someone with something like “It’s an honor to be a martyr” on it. Did he seriously think he would get gunned down by secret service for throwing a shoe? If you want to be a martyr, point a gun at him or something, moron.

… could have been a shoe bomb with a very long fuse.
throwing a shoe is what these people died for? YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME??
we have given Iraq NOTHING but millions dead, there is no freedom there. This is just disgusting. I mean come on, you don’t really believe that the Iraqi civilians and soldiers died for freedom right? That’s an out and out LIE man, come on you know that…
“he couldn’t throw a shoe at Saddam?” how do you know that? How do you know how Iraq was when that scumbag Hussein was in there?, who put Hussein in power anyway? What “freedom” are you talking about anyway? the freedom to eat Mcdonalds? or not wear Burkas that the vast majority of women do wear because of their religion?
I mean please get specific here, you know better than this FONE…
Jeez…
He felt relatively safe? how do you know this?
You made a great point, I know some on these boards will miss you point, but tis true…
VERY TRUE… That man would have been beheaded already and burned in a mass grave…
Yeah but at the end of the day bush is still a douchebag as was saddam and both have had a hand in making the iraqis lives a living hell. To make the point that it was out of line for this guy to throw his shoe at bush because bush gave him his “freedom” is a little bit of a stretch. I know thats not exactly what you said but thats kind of what it’s leading to. Freedom or no freedom it was still unlawful in the way this war has been conducted and it has changed the lives of many iraqis and americans in a very negative way not just because its a war(yes i know all wars have negative effects)but because of the ignorant selfishness that has fueled it. If bush was a complete saint and his reasons for starting this war in the first place were actually honest and genuine then maybe you would be on to something but yeah…you already know the answer to that question. The truth is he manipulated and used the american and iraqi people for his own(along with some of his closest buddies) personal gain. He is and will always be a war criminal. Quite frankly I hope he is asked to come on talk shows. Fuck I hope he’s put on a billboard to wake people the fuck up who haven’t faced it yet. This is how history should remember bush as a fucking douche bag who had a shoe thrown at him and for completely legitimate reasons.
i bet Bush has killed more people in Iraq in the past month than Saddam did in his entire life.
Not sure if thats true but now I’m really curious to find out for sure.
well maybe “the past month” is a bit of a stretch but he must be responsible for more deaths, dismemberments and other wounds and ruined lives than Saddam by now. After 8 years.
and they hung Saddam.
what should they do to Bush?
throwing a shoe is just a meager start.
I still find it unbelievable that people actually still defend this douchebag. Why defend Bush when he would never give two shits about you? Does it make people feel patriotic or something? -what a fucking joke. This guy, like his father, is a piece of shit. He cares more about power and greed and money than human life. Why defend someone like that? There are reports that this Iraqi who threw the shoe had lost personal relatives. Bush is lucky this guy didn’t have something more forceful than a dress shoe coming his way.
I agree, this is the perfect ending to the Bush administration as he leaves office.
Fuck that piece of shit
I wouldn’t exactly drag Dubya’s father into this. He pushed them out of Kuwait and then basically left the country alone. He even had the foresight to keep Saddam in control since he knew what a mess it would be if they took him out. Dubya’s the one who fucked this up.
And yeah yeah, I know…the NWO was behind it all. I know. It’s all part of our plan.

I will continue to support all my family and friends that are there or on the way, just found out more news from a soldier and I think MANY would be surprised if they heard what I did straight from a person who witnessed many GOOD things there…
And he is a DEM… Odd isn’t it?
^WE ALL SUPPORT THE TROOPS, WE WANT THEM HOME, that’s the kind of support they need at this point.
GOOD things happening there? like what? Children being saved by an abusive father by the marines?
Good things happen everywhere, what does that mean?
I hope some good things happen there, my god, there better be some good things or Id really be hitting the roof…
good things happening there is no justification for MURDER friendinsky.
I haven’t looked into the exact progress of the war at the moment and maybe there is on some level some productive resolution. The point at hand is the impression that this war and america has left on the world and for the most part it is painfully obvious that it is not a good impression. This generation( being the bush generation) has been known as a retarded moment in history because of the actions of retarded politicians. Maybe there is progress but thats probably due to the amount of violence going down and not the fact that iraqi people have realized what a great oppurtunity this has been for them!!! Thanks America!!!. I mean i dont know for sure but come on… I always support the troops no matter what. They are put into a situation and asked to go through something that most could’nt handle and they do it so we dont have to, i understand that. But isn’t that all the more reason why we should take every precaution necessary to make sure that they do it for the right reasons. Its not the troops who decide to invade countries its the politicians who they should be able to trust to account for their best interests. As far fetched as that seems is it really that much to ask? No its not. The sad truth is there will always be at least one politician like bush out there who cant account for shit. Not the safety or repsect of our troops, our money, corruption, logical thinking in general, the fact that his own party is afraid to embrace him now or the reason why someone would throw a shoe at him.
