my first show !!! nine years ago today. 6th row seats in the center , never will forget the grin on Treys face when they started in to chalkdust …I knew it was gonna be the shit!!! this is what got me into Phish , i had never thought much of them until i saw them live and after this night i was hooked big time. tightest playing band i had ever seen, iwas so amazed that i couldnt even talk for 30 mins after the show…all i could say was wow!! I think you know what i mean…lol. saw alot of great shows after this one but it will always be my favorite ,i believe. I used to have this show on tape , if anyone has it on cd would ya pm me ? thanks and peace to all.

^ Definately the best Gin ever! It is really what got me so into phish…I finally got a new stereo about 1 year ago now and I couldn’t wait to try out one of the phish shows that I had downloaded, but that sounded like crap on my shitty little boom box…First thing I played on my new stereo 11/7/96 Disc 2. I smoked a bowl and completely fell in love…I don’t know how to describe it…It was kind of like falling in love with a girl, but with no fear of rejection whatsoever…I wanted to get down on one knee and propose during that LOOOOOOOONGGGGGGGGG Gin jam, but I couldn’t move…I was in deep and since that day my life’s goal has just been to hear all the phish I can…because of this day which I didn’t even know existed until about a year ago. If you hook me up with a PM gonnapickone…I might be able to send you a copy of this…although I think mine is just Mp3…

Everyone should really go out of their way to find this show…If you are lucky it might still be up on bt.etree.org.

We’re entering a period of Phishtory that have MANY significant dates in the following weeks…especially in the '96-'99 era!

I know a lot of us (yes, me included) love the 11.17.97 Denver show…let’s us all pull it out and give it a thorough listen today!! Crank up that “Ghost” and “Denver jam!”

also, the filler is quite delicious too!

^ Shit I totall forgot…I was look through all my shows for an 11/17 today and I forgot that I have that LivePhish…oh well…Maybe tonight…before Conan.

11-19-1992 St Mikes. WHat a fuckin awesome show. Im a huge fan of the Lengthwise! Bold as Love, Weekapaug, Split open and melt big ball jam. one of the best shows!

everyone listen to their much-maligned Hampton Comes Alive discs in the next 48 hours! Especially the fantastic “Mike’s Groove” on disc 6!!!

November 19-26 is possibly the greatest 8 day stretch in Phish history (not counting new years or halloween)…it has produced MANY great shows!

Today marks the 8th (DAMN!) anniversary of one of the greatest all-around Phish shows EVER at Hampton, and it also marks the 10th anniversary of a great “Free” and a wonderfully botched “Rift” in Maryland

If you have these shows, listen to them!

10th anniversary of the '95 Landover show. Does anyone else agree that fall '95 is a highly underrated time in the band’s history? The falls of those four years ('95-'98) are simply astonishing (in terms of how good the band is).

^
I don’t think you’ll find a single person who will say that fall 1995 is underrated. It will ALWAYS be appreciated within the Phish ranks as one of the greatest tours ever, if not THE greatest (capped off by NYE '95, the 2nd greatest Phish show ever)

Excellent post…don’t forget that 11 years ago today a wild jam erupted after Funky Bitch at the U of Mizzou! Highlight of the show hands-down, also serves as filler on the Bomb Factory livephish, so CRANK IT!

11/94 was an groundbreaking month, riding the surge of Halloween.

ONE OF THE BETTER ALL-AROUND SHOWS OF A HOT FALL TOUR…! :sunglasses:

11-27-98 The Centrum, Worcester, MA
1: Funky Bitch, Ya Mar, Carini, Runaway Jim, Meat, Reba*, The Old Home Place, Dogs Stole Things, Vultures, When the Circus Comes, Birds of a Feather (1:23)

2: Buried Alive, Wipe Out+, Chalk Dust Torture** -> Mirror in the Bathroom# -> Chalk Dust Torture -> Dog Log## -> Chalk Dust Torture > Sanity, Buffalo Bill, Mike’s Song^ -> I Am Hydrogen -> Weekapaug Groove^^, Run Like an Antelope (1:18)

E: Wading in the Velvet Sea, Golgi Apparatus -> Wipe Out+ (0:13)

*With whistling. +Trey introduced Fish. **With “Wipe Out” teases. #First time played (The Beat (later known as The English Beat) cover from their debut LP “I Just Can’t Stop It”); two verses played. ##Possibly inspired by a dog show taking place next door to the Centrum; very bluesy. ^With ambient jamming. ^^With recurring “Wipe Out” jamming and ambient jamming (especially in the latter portion). +After a drum solo by Fish, Trey introduced him again and then they finished “Wipe Out.”

great show ;D

11/27/98 may be my favorite Live Phish release. That or 6/22/94.

Two year anniversary of a pretty sweet show in Albany! the best of that four show run, edging out the next night.
Great Setlist, well performed–plus a guest appearance by original band member Jeff Holdsworth! CamelWAlk and Possum are classic!

Yes Albany was the one fully solid show of that tour. The Wolfman’s in the 1st set is great and get’s lost because the second set was so memorable. I remember being exactly to Page’s side and wondering who these two old dudes lurking back stage are doing cuz and it turns out it was Holdsworth and a very grey haired Tom Marshall who i cannot believe i did not recognize but the grey threw me and made me feel old!

You were at the show! cool!
I forgot about the tom marshall appearance too. When I saw the setlist I thought: “What the hell will they play for the 20th anniversary show–they already played all their show-stoppers???”

Albany 12/1/03 was solid. You could’ve powered all the lights in NY with the energy in the Knick that night. That place always seemed to bring the best out of the boys. I’d give it my nod for top five post-hiatus shows, even top three…

I don’t know about top three, but probably top ten or 15

Also 12/1/95 - 10 years ago was the start of maybe the best month is phishtory. This sweet gem from Hershey, Pennsylvania includes a Forbins Narration about Eastern and Western philosophies and how chocolate ties into all of it. “mmmmmmmmmmm chocolate”. I really believe it is worth getting for this narration alone, my personal favorite. but this second set is sooo cool man:

2: Halley’s Comet-> Mike’s Song-> Weekapaug Groove-> The Mango Song, Wilson, HYHU-> Suspicous Minds-> HYHU, David Bowie-> Catapult-> David Bowie

Nice.

I can’t believe no one has mentioned today’s date…12/2! The “alleged” first concert date (1983). This date 10 years ago produced one of the best “Tweezers” ever, too!
