Agree with most of the list, although since I’m from B10 country I’d move OSU/Mich to #1.
What are some of the sports teams you love to hate?
Without question, the Indiana University Hoosiers are at the top of my list. The Keady vs. Knight hey-day was as good as it got in college basketball. I dislike strongly the Patriots as well. Since the Pacers suck, and I don’t really follow them anymore, I don’t really hate any NBA teams.
I’m from Michigan and I wouldn’t put UM/OSU at #1…you don’t hear stories of people murdering each other over their teams up here like they do down South. I’d put Auburn/Alabama or one of those SEC rivalries above UM/OSU but it’d be close.
Anyway…teams I hate…let’s see…I hate…
Boston Celtics
Boston Red Sox
New York Yankees
Chicago Bulls
Chicago Cubs
Chicago Bears
Dallas Cowboys
Chicago Blackhawks (though it’s hard to still hate them since they’re so pathetic now and their owner doesn’t even put them on TV)
Duke basketball
Any team having anything to do with UofM, especially UM football
Wisconsin basketball (and that piece of crap, Bo Ryan)
Florida football
As for players, it’s usually folks having to do with those teams above. JJ Redick, Jordan, Bird, McHale, etc etc. You know the drill. Also, I dislike any player who ever did roids in baseball. I also hate Gary Bettman and Bud Selig and I’m growing a nice dislike for Roger Goddell who seems shadier than Al Capone.
Also, I hate the Sklar Brothers…I don’t know what they have to do with sports aside from those bad ESPN “Cheap Seats” shows that I never watch, but they’re bad. Real bad.

Using that logic you could cram the top-5 with European and South-American soccer rivalries.
^^I lived in Ann Arbor for 5 years and I WOULD put it at #1.

What’s wrong with that? These people are insane.
Well I know that MSU/UM is a good rivalry…but only one way. MSU folks HATE UM but UM folks see them as nothing more of a small annoyance.
And because UM folks like to pretend that they don’t have a basketball team, they pretend to not be annoyed that our basketball team demolishes them every year so that’s only one way as well.
If MSU actually started becoming more competitive in football, then UM might care and it might be more interesting.
The worst part is the two hockey teams are usually Top Ten every year and are almost equal to each other in skill and the games against each other are usually fantastic…and most folks don’t even care.

U of M/ OSU should be number one and Bama/Auburn should be number two. I was fortunate enough to attend one game of the 10 year war and one Iron Bowl. Good times…

Russel vs. Chamberlain—> Doesn’t both teams or guys in this case have to win some to be a rivalry…Russell owned Wilt. I’d say Larry vs. Magic is a little better.
My absolutely most hated francise in any sport is the New England Patriots. Coincidentally the best rivalry going in sports right now is the Colts and Patriots. All their games are just classics and you know your going to have to go through these teams to get to the top of the AFC. Keep reaching Jacksonville. You’ll just never get there with a meat head for a coach.
Of course Yankees Redsox although I’m partial to Cubs Cardinals.
