how’d you miss this part?

and the Clint Eastwood is this right?-

Two questions right off the bat:

  1. Phish.com has the track “Traveler” listed only on the 7". Does that mean it’s not with the rest of the album on the 180 gram vinyl?
  2. When is Trey going to let “let me lie” lie already?

^ I copied from the LP description.

Yes

Has anyone heard Corona, Frost, Traveler or Architect?

Aren’t Land of Nod, Pigtail, Valentine, Greyhound Rising old tunes ?

No
Yes

Got it on preorder. We’ll see how it goes.

And those are old tunes? From when? They can’t be THAT old…

I got the Scabbard single on vinyl at Oak Mountain and was very pleasantly surprised. Really awesome tune so I may actually get this. I also thought Pigtail, while not awesome, was a lot better than the one version Phish played.

So are they not going to release this shit on CD? Because I don’t have a working record player, and I just don’t care enough about vinyl to go get one and all that.

What is a CD?

No REEL TO REEL version??? WTF???

soundcloud.com/tarquin-studios/traveler

Pretty sure that is the studios soundcloud and is legit. If not, mods feel free to pull this.

^nice

Listening to a leaked version now. Don’t expect too much. Scabbard is an anomaly. The rest tastes like Bud Light Lime.

But, at least he has figured out how to use his sideshow as an outlet for his pop sensibilities. Then he can throw us runs like Dick’s when he’s with the guys…

when is this available?

This album getting played and discussed by Big Red himself tonight on JamOn. Also replays if you miss it.

Well, I’ve just finished my second time listening to this straight thru and while it wasn’t as bad as listening to it the first time, I can honestly say I probably won’t ever listen to this again.

I can’t even compare it to anything.

Trey is in a serious writing slump right now.

And for a guy who is known for his guitar abilities, he sure does his best to stay away from that on this album.

I’m seeing Trey on Thursday and my Traveler copy hasn’t arrived yet so I’m sneaking a few listens of what I can find. I found live versions of a few songs like Greyhound, Valentine and Frost (I do like Valentine) and gave Scabbard a listen and I did that too. Frost and Greyhound are nice tunes but didn’t do a whole lot.

Also been catching up with some tunes I hadn’t heard before like Peggy and Sailboat Man. All That Almost Was and Liquid Time are REALLY good though…wonder why those didn’t end up on an album.

As for Trey’s guitar skills I felt it was that way with Horseshoe Curve…not a lot of actual guitar on that one either. I think he just likes to try stuff out on his albums and then leave the guitar for the live shows. Or maybe he just wants to try something different on his solo albums.
