Has anyone heard the Invisible from S.F. 12/2. Trey lets loose some concerns of his on being target practice at his gigs. It’s pretty friggin sad really, people shouldn’t F with him like this.

At the end of the track, Trey says:

I remember Anthony Keidis saying a similar thing to a crowd in Seattle that kept spitting at him. He was livid. “I know it’s a punk rock expression of liking,but if one of your motherfuckers spit on me again, fists will fucking fly.”

Yeah, shit…I had heard that something went down, but it’s nice to hear what was actually said. I look forward to hearing the whole show.

Props to him for keeping his cool and getting it off his chest at the same time.

Who would pay money for a ticket to huck crap at Trey? Wouldn’t not buying a ticket and encouraging others to do the same be more effective? Hit him in the pocketbook, not in the head, if you don’t like his new direction.

I also can’t believe this happened in San Francisco. What happened to the hippie ethos???

Just listened to his Invisible statement, and I think the guy showed a lot of class. He said exactly what needed to be said to the people who have done this shit to him. It was pretty direct and to the point to anyone who blames him for anything.

He may have a ton of human shortcomings, as do we all, but Trey is not an asshole, and he pretty much proved that by confronting his “assailants” in just the way you or I would confront them. Or at least I hope I would.

Yeah, Im glad he said what he did. It needed to be done. What these asshats are doing is complete bullshit. Like Marley said, don’t buy a ticket to the show, hurt his wallet if you feel he’s a dick. Don’t throw things at him, that’s just evil.

I feel sorry for the losers that throw shit at bands. Just like Trey said. “I feel sorry for you!” Those pieces of dirt will never reach the musical appreciation I feel, Trey feels and all of us respectful people feel when were all listening or playing something that we really love. In saying that, that’s what all those scummy people will never have. The love and appreciation for something good and pure.

You know, the douche nozzle that did that and the other dickwads who have been doing it all tour are doing it - presumably - because they hold Trey responsible for breaking up the band.

How is throwing shit at him gonna make it better? Is he suddenly going to say, “Now that I got hit with a beer, I’m gonna get the band back together!”

If anything, shit like this makes a reunion less likely…

Was very pleased with how he reacted. Thanks for the files Astral, well appreciated. Live 3 miles from the Warfield and didnt go. it didnt feel right. Now that i saw what happened I am glad i wasnt there to witness in person, although eyes would have been worth it. anyone go?

Anyway I mentioned it elsewhere… its gotta be hard to be in the spotlight like that. The most classic example of fans becoming irrate at a performer for a change was when Dylan went electric… Of course I’m sure many of you know the story. I think they basically wanted to lynch the man. How dare he!!! but Dylan knew where it was at and people have to trust Trey knows too… atleast knows where hes at… He could always tour as “Trey Anastasio with special guests Mike, Page and Fish.”:P:P

While part of me thinks it’s kind of ‘unclassy’ to swear so much, I would totally be the same way and have said the same things. I may not like the direction Trey has gone in, but I’m not going to go to his shows to try to ruin it for everyone. Frankly if he’s happy with what he’s doing, I’m ecstatic for him.
