Trey says no Phish tour til Summer

At the end of “Blue Moon” from 12/31/09, Trey thanks the fans and says “we’ll see you again this summer, we’re taking a little break but we’ll be back this summer.” (Listen here: yawningdrone.com/?p=328)

So no spring tour after all? Solo project stuff, maybe? Dunno.

In a way, I’m actually kind of glad to hear that they’re taking a rest and will have some downtime with their families. I want Phish to stay as fresh and vibrant as they’ve been all year. I want them to stay happy and excited about the band for many years to come, and taking periodic breaks from touring seems like that’s key to keeping it exciting for the boys.

After this Miami run I could use the break. NYE was a great trip :wink: , that"s the way to start a New Year :clap: :clap: :mrgreen:. It was nice not having to travel far to get home, but I will be going through Phish withdrawl now that its done :crazy: .

Well, I too could not be happier by this. First he says they are taking a little break then he gives us assurance of a return in the summer…sweet. Can’t wait for a little TAB run!

Im so glad that theyre taking a break…they deserve it so much and breaks always give them a chance to re-invent themselves kinda…It means that by the time the summer tour rolls around we’ll be hearing phresh 2010 phish rather than if they continued touring in february say and sounded too reminiscent of 2009

kinda sad since i didn’t get to go to miami, but like every one has said it will keep them sounding fresh :thumbup: and i’ve never been to a mike show, so i’m looking forward to seeing their solo stuff

I have no problems with this. I am hoping I can do a Pittsburgh -> Deer Creek (2) -> Alpine.

My resolution for 2010 is to see Phish in a new venue (or two!).

And to smoke a big bowl of crack while doing it.

QFT. Agreed whole-heartedly.

After attending 23 shows in 2009 (or ~6mos since first show was 31May09), I will need the next half of the year to regain my frequent hotel and airline points for future personal / Phish travels. Also need to order more Ukranian Smokes to sell for cheap in the NE lots (smokes do NOT sell well in southern tobacco country).

Must ease my guilty financial conscience. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I knew all this spring tour talk was just selfish, baseless hoping. they’ve played a LOT this year. They’ve done a spring tour once in the past 12 years, and it was because they’d just come back-a one-off type thing. Even if their was a spring tour the last time they played spring summer and fall was 97, and all in the U.S. you’d have to go back to 94.

And I doubt we’ll be getting any Mike & Leo. Mike really seems to be enjoying his solo band right now.
