Trey hasn’t played Los Angeles in 5 years, this Friday will be special. I’m hoping for a Randy Newman “I Love LA” cover.
I converted this AUD from FLAC to MP3:

^^^Those Columbus pics are awesome.
Lookin’ forward to tonite’s show!
It’ll be my son’s first Trey solo show, so that’s cool. He should dig the acoustic stuff…
Just gotta cross my fingers and hope the hipster L.A. crowd doesn’t talk through the whole show.
Gonna be a whole lotta button-downs and sportscoats in the house tonight!
^Have fun1 i am sure you will…these shows have been really good. ![]()
^Yeah, it really looks like Trey is getting back to his roots and having fun with this tour. He seems a lot more playful than he has been with Phish since the return… which I’ve been missing. So, yeah… really looking forward to it!
The Wife’s first TAB show tonight! We are super stoked. Hopefully this gig foreshadows some legit so cal summer tour dates this year.
^Sweeeeet! Should be awesome for her. Come say hi if you see me. I’ll be the guy who is not wearing a sparkly button down shirt or sunglasses. Shouldn’t be too hard to miss.
Been loving the acoustic sets. Really enjoy hearing the songs stripped down, especially my friend, my friend.
Last night was soooooooo hot. Loved it.
Good times last night at the Music Box! Great to see Trey having fun again! He was talking to the crowd, dancing around-- even spinning around dramatically at points. Just great to see him letting loose and letting go.
Highlights for me were definitely Push On, Money Love & Change and the encore… Push On was possibly the best first set closer I’ve seen since the 90’s. The crowd stood there screaming and cheering for a good few minutes after it ended. ML&C was so nice a funky.
The acoustic set was lots of fun. I fucking love acoustic Wilsons, man. That song just rocks in acoustic form. A lot of the quieter part of the acoustic set was tough to hear over the massive amount of talking. It was dumbfounding to the point where I finally shouted “Shut the hell up, Trey is playing the guitar!!!” which actually worked pretty well. After that, other people were willing to shush the talkers and folks started being a little more respectful. It wasn’t much of an issue once the electric stuff began… but sheesh.
There was a point in the acoustic set where Trey put the capo on and then went on this whole long banter with the crowd for quite a while and then finally came back and started playing Theme from the Bottom… I have to wonder if he had planned on playing something else or if he just put the capo on the wrong fret? Right when he started singing, we were all like “hmmmm… this sounds like it’s way too high for him to sing…” and it was! Does he play it in this key every time? Here’s the entire vid:

Anyways… sweet times! Mad props to the band! Horns rule!!! ![]()
Push On is such a fun, high energy tune to close a set. Glad he’s playing a lot of the older, pre-Shine, stuff.
Here is the home-base for all of the great TAB Aud’s from this Tour:
