I remember that some great stuff there.

As a bit of an aside, last night I was watching PalladiumHD channel, and there was a special about the making of one of Herbie Hancocks newer albums. Trey was very dominant during the one section, and his playing, ideas, and just general attitude was so great to see.

Not sure when the footage was from… But if I had to really guess, I would say pretty much right after the probation period ended.

^Ah yes, I remember seeing something like that in September. I think it was the recording of the album possibilities. They were recording in the barn, right? Good stuff!

BB was way more comfortable there than at the meadowlands appearancde with phish. I’ve seen BB afew times - love it

dig

Man that is pretty incredible stuff. B.B. King is the shit. I saw him a few years ago in Asheville, and the man can still really play his ass off. I think one thing that doesn’t get mentioned that often, though, is how great a blues sound Trey has. His blues licks are so smooth and fluid and easy to listen to.

That BB/Trey footage was from the IMAX flick All Access. Way cool to see that. I saw the Imax movie several times.

Saw the IMAX flick, was SECK.

That guy they do a closeup of during the BB, Roots, Trey jam is my old friend Justin. He tracked down where they filmed this piece here in Los Angeles.

SECK!!!

Wow. Thanks for posting that wooks. That totally made my evening.

Wow, I was there and this is the first time I have seen the footage.
This was awsome there was about 150-200 people there. I was maybe twenty feet back on BB’s side, and that was the back!! Played 3 versions of the song and then Trey came out for a 15+min blues solo. He had to do something for the non-paid actors that showed up to see him. Def cool shit thanks

I was just saying how the roots are the phish of hip-hop…BBs got it all backwards lol…greatt vidd

This video is great. One loves the comment in the beginning from B.B. King about how Trey plays notes that he can’t find on his guitar.

there is now way that sound quality was doing them any justice. does anyone know of a higher quality version of this? (without actually going to an imax theater) I just did a couple quick searched and couldn’t find anything.

^From what I understand it’s been seen on TV, but no dvd releases…yet.

i remember when i first saw this, i thought it was pretttty groooovy.

RIP BB, but this song smokes!

Great quote about it from Trey:
“I’m still buzzing after playing with The Roots. Man, I needed that. I don’t know what was better, feeling Questlove’s drums shaking my whole body or watching the crew in the back of the room dancing around while we played.”

More Trey, and others, with The Roots: (First Tube!)
