True Blood

oh yeah curb, forgot that is coming back soon

woot, add that to my fav shows list in the mad men thread

Holy Shit!! What an epic episode! It’s going down in these last 2 epidsodes of the season. Damn so many oh shit moments.

Spoiler Alert:

Damn finally they get back to Bon Temp and see that things of have gone to shit. WTF is Sookie? Damn she has more powers??? MaryAnn is really pissing me off!!! Hilarious scene with Jason acting as this crazed “god”…Sam’s got some splaining to do to Andy and Jason. Tara finally snaps out of it!! Damn Bill went to see the Queen??? Holy shit!!! Is this his maker?? Someone else??? Why was blood dripping down her feet?? That place looked sweet. Had Matrix like guards everywhere. Damn I can’t wait till next Sunday!!!

Short episode tonight, but damn it delivered the goods.

yea it was shorter than usual, me and my gf were wondering about that

we thought it was great and yes these last 2 episodes are gonna be crazy

anyone ever read these books?
there is supposedly a series out about this show
just wondering if anyone read it first before watching the show

My “Best 5 Television Shows of the Last 5 Years” List.

  1. Battlestar Gallactica - if you haven’t seen it, get it now!!!
  2. Dexter - Showtimes answer to HBO
  3. True Blood
  4. Big Bang Theory - nerd humor at it’s finest
  5. How I met your Mother

I haven’t seen Mad Men, but my wife loves it. And I hate Lost, the story is just ridiculous IMNSHO, but again, my wife loves it.

Six Feet Under was also a fantastic show, was it 5 years ago? My laziness has kicked in!

I’m planning on getting them soon. I’ll let you know. Also, I’m pretty sure the show is based on the books, and not the other way around. If that’s what you were saying.

Maryann is like Isis or something. It’s a god of sorts. I’m sure they will fill us in next week. I can’t wait til Sookie kicks her ass. That is gonna be sweetness.

I was a little behind, so I just watched the last 3 episodes tonight and they were all kickass.

I think Andy will have a part in Marianne’s downfall since he seems to be the only one not susceptible to her influences. I’m curious why. Bon Temps seems to breed/attract special sorts of people. Ultimately though, it will have to be a showdown between Sookie and Marianne, which should be pretty great. Sookie is a tough cookie.

I agree about the animation with Godrick’s death scene. I found it a little “meh.” I understand it’s faster because of the age difference, but the whole process was different. Seemed like they were going for something more flashy and dramatic, but it didn’t work for me. I liked Godrick. Wish he was on longer, but I suppose he served his purpose.

I don’t think the queen is Bill’s maker. They wouldn’t have had him go to her right after he said he would never see her again. She probably won’t be back for awhile.

I like Eggs and I hope he makes it through this.

One of my favorite lines is when they are decorating the tree outside the house and Marianne says “I think it needs more meat.” That really made me chuckle for some reason.

^ Your absolutely right Katiemay…I did a little research if your curious in a spolier… the Queen is being played by Evan Rachel Wood. So obviously a completely different character. It was my first reaction after the show and then I realized how that was a pretty ridiculous thought.

Ohhhh yeah. I remember reading now, before the season started, that she was going to be on. I never realized I hadn’t seen her yet. Should be yet another interesting character.

yea i meant the books were written first and the show was based on them, typo on my part there

did anyone read these though?
i read up a bit on them and supposedly Lafayette dies in the begging of the second book but they kept him alive in the show?

there are 12 books though so hopefully 12 series?

^I haven’t read the books, but I watched a special before the second season started and Alan Ball said “Anyone who has read the books will tell you that Lafayette is the one in the back of the car” or something to that effect. So yes, I guess he does die in the books. I, for one, am quite thankful it was not him. Love that Lafayette!

Lafayette is a great character, I would like to see him stick around. “TIP YOUR WAITRESS!!!” I am also a big fan of Jason Stackhouse, he’s such a goofy guy that it’s funny, almost over the top. It’s too bad they killed off Lizzy Caplan, she’s hot!

I have really enjoyed Lafayette’s character development this season. The first season didn’t really let us “in” to his true personality so much.

I was forced to watch the first episode of the first season, and i was hooked about 15 min in. Watched the entire first season and am all caught up on season 2. Awesome show!!! The characters are all weaving in and out, some shinning the first season and some the second season, great show!!!

I was not too whippy on last night’s episode. I know it was necessary to build up the season finale. We did learn some cool things though. Tara summoned MaryAnn. I totally remember the scene from Season 1, but I totally fogot the “young” Tara had the crazy eyes. Eric can fly. Evan Rachel Wood is hot. Oh wait we already knew that.

WTF is up with that egg in the bed though? Weird.

Also gotta wait 2 weeks…uggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…I want to watch the season finale now. It’s going to be so fricking epic.

I don’t understand the egg part either. Is it Marriane’s demon spawn or something ridiculous like that?

It was revealed that Eric can fly early in season 1, however, this is the first time we have seen him in action. It was when Bill was clarifying the vampire myths to Sookie on one of their first dates. Then when they went to Dallas, Eric told Lafayette (after he made Lafayette drink his blood to heal his leg), he “had to fly,” and was in Dallas in the scene after next. Sorry, just wanted to clear that up.

I did think there was a little extra “cheese” on this most recent episode. I’m pretty sure the finale is going to kick ass, but I’m already pissed at how long I’m going to have to wait til next season. I soooo wanna see Bill and Eric throw down.

I hope I won’t have to wait that long to see Phish again.

Wait, they’re going the 2 weeks thing? That is so fucking retarded. I don’t know why TV shows postpone the season finale only to have to compete with opening day of the NFL. Gotta think about ratings people.

^ That’s exactly what I told my wife. The NFL is a beast to deal with. Were talking at least a 16.0 share for the Sunday Night Football Game.

True Blood is considered counter programming for football. They are hoping to scoop up wives, girlfriends, dudes like me that have no love for sports in general, etc. If all the other networks program re-runs because of the game, HBO will thrive with the counter-programming strategy.

Anyway, the reason they are not showing this coming week is Labor Day. You will find that HBO avoids playing their Sunday night content on holiday weekends. Most networks employ the same strategy. Television will be a black hole of repeat programming next Sunday.

finale predictions?
