damn, the jam section of this song - in live versions - comes FAST! i’ve got 7-12-00 going and they start funking it up only 49 seconds into the song!!
The third night gets overlooked because of the night before. But 7-12 is a fantastic show. The Curtain with bustout, first Free of tour, Crosseyed, and yes the Tube is smokin. Check it out yall!

Don’t know? I was inside. From what i know that’s where all the shutouts go at Deer Creek. Before the Dead incident in 95 there was no pre-gate before the fence. On 8-13-96 even with the pre-gate you could clearly hear the soundcheck. We heard a cool version of Spooky!
OMG…if I ever see Phish live I need to see a Tube!!! That should be the first song they play at their first show if they reunite.

It’s funny how people point to this as a key ‘funk’ song but I can’t think of a large number of ‘funk’ versions of it during 97/98. Somebody listen the outstanding versions!

yep. the only tube i ever saw, so it holds a special place for me, but it’s NASTY, IMO. i love that syncopated jam, it gets thick.
