Twist

If I’m feeling adventurous, I’ll pop in 6.14.00.

11/14/97 GO LISTEN TO IT NOW…SO FUNKY SO DEEP…

While read PostHiatusGuy’s entire post, I kept screaming 6/14/00 in my head. It’s definitely a Twist to twist to.

I was talking specifically about post-hiatus twists. Wadaya expect?

6.14.00 is good too, and is one of the more unique twists.

11/29/03

i’ve always enjoyed the lyrics to this song

I spoke your name for many days
Pronouncing it in several ways
And moving letters all around

And when you heard the end result,
I told you it was not my fault,
If you were here more of the day,
It wouldn’t twist around that way

Wouldn’t twist around (wouldn’t twist around) that way Whoo!

Are these lyrics about a relationship Tom or Trey had with a Female? Is the Whoo! the Climax? If I twist around like we did last summer will I to go Whoo!?

^anybody got any info?

SPAC 04 deserves the hype it gets. Wow, this is a cool jam. Fishman is so good.

Fuck yeah!!

I can’t believe the Cypress Twist hasn’t been mentioned in this thread. I had no idea what song it was after the first 5 minutes. The jam goes so far out there and then a picture perfect segue into Prince Caspain (the best Caspian ever BTW). I don’t know if I ever even noticed this Twist before this weekend, but you should all give it another shot.

I love any and all Twists. In fact, the Twist on the Vegas DVD is one of my favorite things about it.

I spoke your name for many days
Pronouncing it in several ways
And moving letters all around

And when you heard the end result,
I told you it was not my fault,
If you were here more of the day,
It wouldn’t twist around that way

whooo

i always wondered if this was written about a woman or more in paticular trey’s wife, and that if she was around more, he wouldn’t fuck up and do shit ie the H and Pills, could be wrong though, anybody have any knowledge of what these lyrics mean?

7-5-97 may be my new favorite version of alllllllll time.

seriously, get a hold of this and crank it. Funkiest jam from Twist EVER!!

agreed.
that is a nice one.
a

some cool versions that haven’t been mentioned…

6-20-97
8-3-97
9-10-99
12-5-99 (nicely rearranged)
7-4-00!!!

1997-08-06 is very nice.

Fun segue into 2001 taboot.

I listened to that 7.5.97 show yesterday, and I also liked that Twist. Pretty funky groove, but the singing over the jam is kinda what takes it to another level. Something about singing over the jam is always cool with phish (i.e. 4.3.98 Roses!)

I also really enjoyed the Hood from this one-set show. No particular stand-out reason, just a solidly played and unique-enough hood.

The GTBT from this show is a smoker!! 8 or 9 minutes long!

I heard it again!

In the 4.2.98 version Mike plays a bass line for a minute or two that is exactly like the “triumphant” theme Page plays at the beginning of Bittersweet Motel, when they are practicing Birds of a Feather. You know, I think Trey calls it “the Star Wars” theme, or something. Its unmistakable.

Sorry I don’t have the timing, its just on livephish radio–its probably around the 10 minute mark.

Star Trek theme

I just finished the “Twist” and it dissolved nicely into “Caspian.”

I’m on the “Caspian” jam right now and it is indeed quite inspiring.
