I was very excited about the 6-8 song sets too! Not so much about 18 +
Maybe they are just gearing up for Superball?

…and you know how I feel about all the repeats already so I won’t go into that, but I hope they start mixing things up here soon. 3 crosseyed’s already? 
There is no way they are playing 18+ song sets. I definitely think that some songs are getting a bit over played this tour, but since they are also busting out rarities left and right I don’t really care. I just wish they would move Wolfmans into that second set and stretch it out some…same with AC/DC Bag.

yea, ya kno im being sarcastic with those numbers…but those sets do look insanely songy. im down with them playing hard and ther are small nuggets of greatness is most songs, but when i see that number of songs i get the feeling theyr maybe a bit bored out ther and r just trying to fill out the time slot…knamsayn? i apologize for my shortness, im typing on my damn phone keypad so im tryin to be brief lol

So…do you think with Phish playing all these songs that people are bringing signs for, that more and more people are going to be bringing signs to shows this terr and it might get to the point where there are entirely too many signs and too many dicks holding them up?

the repeats dont bother me too much. i try to look at each show individually and not worry too much what they played the night before. play bowie every night for all i care.
was psyched to see party time opening set2 though…i love that song. i hav a yellow party time hat now that ill probably be rockin on the reg on terr, so look out
I’m sort of torn. When I am at a show I’m thinking I don’t care what they play because I’d probably be at home listening to Phish anyway, but at the same time when I’m home listening to Phish I myself am not rocking out to Sample or 6 minute Pipers. In regards to the smiling comment up there, I really want the band to have fun playing. I don’t know if I want to be at shows that they don’t have fun playing. So to keep in mind the repeats, are they really having fun playing Mike’s Groove every other show?
Still, I don’t think that length = quality (18 minute MSG Tweezer aint all that) but when I see a 9 minute Hood I kind of wonder what they played it for. Did the band enjoy playing it, or was it a crowd pleaser?

i thought the msg tweez was almost the only ‘all that’ segment of the whole run. ghost was good too i suppose
You just never know what a jam brings unless you hear it yourself. That 18 minute Tweezer didn’t do much for me either, but it was definitely fun. On the other hand just for example, the Wilson from MPP 1 the other night was awesome, but it wasn’t even six minutes. Still usually when the band is playing longer, it means good things are occurring.

If that came off as me saying the MPP Wilson was better than MSG Tweezer, that is NOT what i meant. Just meant you never know what a song brings based on just reading how many minutes it was.
