Last night was ILL.
I had a similar dream but it was Farmhouse->TTE->Show of Life.
I’ll bet Phish just pissed off a whole bunch of people who have tickets to Super Ball with that first set at Portsmouth tonight. Funny thing is, I’m still not that disappointed I wasn’t able to make it to Portsmouth. It’s been a weird year for me so far, and after my four-night run, I’m plenty satisfied. I don’t feel the slightest bit of regret for deciding not to go. At first it was a money thing, and then it was an “I’m exhausted” thing that just hit me after Raleigh. Looks like a fun one tonight though.
that’s a whole leg of tour without TTE, Summer of 89, Let Me Lie, Anything But Me and Friday.
happy now?
I personally like those songs (except Friday and 89) but I just wanted to point that out to all the crabby jacks complaining about the setlists that complain about these songs as well.
Your a great phan Ship. Four shows is quite a run. This tour was a nice progression. Super Ball and 2nd leg should be interesting to say the least
Great point and NO they won’t be happy until the band quits again.
Guess what? Phish is back. Back to be loved and criticized! Don’t like people telling you what your ears are missing?
<-------the door is thataway!
And Phish,Lil Jon wants his catch phrase back!
Please explain this?
This tour was bizarre.
Roller coaster would be how I describe it.
Started off on fire in Bethel.
Took a dip in Holmdel kind of.
Midwest Run (bias as hell) was on fire, at least the 3rd and 4th.
Then the track straightened and it was all kind of the same. Good playing here and there, no real deviation from the set list. Sprinkled in a few gems and it kind of got stale.
This past weekend they dropped some stuff that we’ve been waiting for and a few surprises that no one saw coming.
Ended the “first leg” with some shows that really shined on paper and the playing seemed to tighten up.
This summer has the oddest layout for a “tour” I think that I’ve ever seen.
First Leg>WG>Second Leg>CO just is so roller coaster’y itself. I kind of wish SB was this weekend so that there wasn’t such a gap, they could at least carry over some of the Steam.
Anywayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy… Overall I am happy that they seem to be playing some good shows again. 11>10>09 as far as the summer runs have gone (Kinda think last fall had some more creative playing than this summer overall)
I love Phish… My name is Ryan… ![]()
Historical Fact: Super Ball is going to be awesome.
LP’s posts whining about the phish crowd are my least favorite posts by anyone on this board ever. and thats saying a lot.
cripes that shit is brutal. im not as psyched as i was after blossom for gorge/tahoe/uic, but im still looking forward to getting to do an epic 2week trip with my best buddies…and if the shows are on the same level as dte blossom ill be fucking ecstatic. if not, at least ill get to rage with my pals while seeing tahoe for the 1st time and going back to the gorge, which is one of the best venues ever. chicago will be great too because of all of the good people i kno will be ther…i cant wait for that run. im taking a wait and see approach with colorado. i obviously want to do the run but if 2nd leg is anything like mid 1st leg i mite skip it. going to furthur at red rocks a month later mite actually be higher on my priority list at this point
lol! Hank dude.
Miss ya Hank, see you at UIC Brahskies!
Hank, you’re going to Dick’s. Deal with it. ![]()
Yeah, the average Phish “jaded vet” attention span is. You should have seen these fucking lunatics at the Time Turns Elastic orchestral debut in Nashville. Screaming and hollering the whole time, no respect for those of us who were there to actually hear it, bitching about how it didn’t have enough “bliss”. And then afterwards, they were blasting nitrous tanks outside. Outside of a fucking SYMPHONY concert. No shame, no respect. It’s not a Phish show, kid.
But who cares really? All that matters is that Phish plays a great show, and they do play a great show pretty much every time as far as I’m concerned. If they played a show, and they’re staying serious about being sober, and they made my ears happy, THAT’s what matters. Not the Phish kids who have been doing this for so long that they can’t appreciate it anymore. Fuck those people. Those are the people who sit outside wanting a free ticket and then get inside and bitch that the show sucked.
Sorry if this came off like a rant but your anecdote about the guy with the glowstick is dead-on. Some of these kids (generic term, does not have anything to do with age, as you know) just have nowhere else to go or no one else to bother or I don’t know what, but I’m sick of hearing “Oh yeah that show sucked.” No it fucking DIDN’T. In my opinion, Phish has not played a show that “sucked” since Coventry, PERIOD. And those of us who appreciate this band will continue to go see them regardless of the glowstick-throwing assholes because we know that it is a blessing to be able to see them at all.
And there is nothing wrong with criticizing a show intelligently. People do it here all the time. It’s the dudes just saying “that show sucked” or some shit like that. I would fucking LOVE to see one of those kids get up on stage and even try to make it through one song without falling to pieces. I just think the major problem is people have let their expectations get WAY out of control.
And also, if you don’t like Phish 3.0…
<---------- the door is thataway. (Not directed at you B, I just liked that.)
I love Phish 3.0 more than any of you when it doesn’t suck. Some of you are mistaking my tough love for hate. Now THAT I hate. ![]()
Not directed at any particular member either.
I love that The Wedge was played 3x and C&P 4x this tour. ![]()
I saw a lot shirt on a documentary about backyard hardcore wrestling.
