Although on a different note, I found myself slightly enjoying and even slightly rocking out to Show of Life. This is what happens when there’s no fall tour Phish…this is not good

This Carini didn’t really do it for me. Was nice to see them getting spacey, but I liked a few other Carini’s from '12 more than this one. I’m still in love with the Worcester Carini from the summer tour opener.

Aw jeez. Come on now. I know there’s some amount of kidding involved here, but man, if you’re enjoying the song, you’re enjoying it. No shame in that! I was actually audibly disappointed that they played Show Of Life after Hood for the encore because I thought they should have just left it at Hood, but then I ended up enjoying Show Of Life. That line about “I’d like to take this time/ to thank you all” never gets old to me, either. I feel like half the reason they play that song is to sing that line.
Also, calling all Cactus haters. What’s up with that, yo? Like, I’ve met the dude, and he is definitely weird as hell and kind of hard to talk to, but I dunno, have you guys been to Burlington? There are people up there that make him seem as square as Mitt Romney. He’s an eccentric dude, and I’ve gotten to the point where I appreciate that in a person, especially when they’re as willing to display it as Mike is. I used to hate on the weird, eccentric Asheville hipsters when I lived there until I realized that, in a way, those people are part of the fabric of what makes that place what it is, just like Cactus is an inextricable part of the fabric of Phish’s weird, kooky spirit. I love that guy.
Oh, and his playing is just disgusting. He has been the catalyst for quite a few of the more noteworthy jams of 2012.
How come no ones talking about the fact Mike was using a new bass on that DWD?

Yeah I actually like this song too, really pulls at my heart strings I guess. It was a nice denouement for such a dark set on 12/30 (I think I used that word right 
). My girl and I stayed put while everyone else headed for the exits. I love singing along!
