Type Your Phish Thoughts

Yeah, +1 on 1988.

Love those too, especially those sweet soundboards from Nectar’s. I’ve been a while since I listened to one since I only have them on cassette. Maybe I’ll get a few CD versions.

P.S. That awkward moment when your new roommates first hear you listening to a vocal jam.

I’ve had a few come in during a vacuum solo. “What the hell is that?” “A vacuum cleaner.”

But you know, because of the contrast, it’s hard to swallow that change.

Does it feel like maybe they try to hard nowadays? Seems like they force the lyrics to be a bit too emotional or whatnot. I tended to like when I could draw meaning from the goofy lyrics of songs like Stash or Chalkdust. At the same, I love singing along to Frost or BDtNL.

and by then, I’m so annoyed at the radio, that fuckin’ YEAH I’ll go back to listening to studio KDF man.

Eh, I’d still rather listen to KDF every time. I have such a hard time even finding something decent on the radio that I tend to flip through ten channels before giving up.

Went out to lunch today. Had the windows rolled down, and the Phish turned up.
Suzy from Alpine 2010 comin’ through for the world to hear.
Stopped at stoplight, large black man collecting for some charity, going up and down the traffic lines, hears Page’s funkiness, and starts to get down right there beside my car. Moves on down the line twisting and jammin to the groove. Gave me thumbs up as I started to pull away.
God I love summer with a side of Phish!

hears Page’s funkiness, and starts to get down right there beside my car.

Always love those who aren’t afraid to get down. So many folks so worried about how they may look. This type of freedom is refreshing.

I wish I were at a Phish show at this very moment… Summer tour can’t get here quick enough…

I hear you. And by the time I (we?) finally get to see Phish, summer is going to be all but over. I need to just go let loose at Dick’s already.

Yeah dude, looking forward to Dick’s!!!

Yeah, can’t wait to see Dicks this summer.

Alright!!! Get to meet Piper!! And, hang out with my Canadian buddies! And Pei Yi!

Yesterday was my five year anniversary of my first Phish show. The years keep sliding by don’t they? I usually celebrate or at least commemorate the holiday, 6/11, and whenever it’s 6:11 on the clock I chuckle to myself. Anyone else commemorate the anniversary of their first show?

Yes…7/12/92. 22 years this summer.

Coming up on 14 years. Still one of my freakiest storm moments.

7/25/03 in Charlotte, NC! I will celebrate 11 years TO THE DAY next month at the same venue!

Still make it a point to listen to that show every August 10th. Still brings me back to that day. The lot, the people, the music, the lights…:open_mouth:

I think the Tweezer from 8/1/98 Alpine is quickly becoming one of my favorite versions ever. Do it.

SBD included on bonus disc from Alpine DVD.

^Why doesn’t Fishman do those “drum intro” things at the start of Tweezer like that anymore?

Boom!

Boom, Boom, Ba-Boom!

It’s always the little things that get me on these older versions.

I’ll still talk up 12/6/97 as one of my favorite Tweezers, especially for the badass segue into Izabella (and why don’t they play THAT anymore? What a badass tune). Well, then there’s that and the weird “sewer” Tweezer from 2/20/93 which I enjoy.

Just had a flashback from 20 years ago when I was in grad school getting high to Rift and trying to figure it all out. Hard to believe it’s been 20 years…

'sup dudes? I haven’t been on here in a while, but I got my hands on a copy of Fuego and gave it a listen this morning. It might be a tad early to start making such claims, but I really think this is the best Phish album since Story of the Ghost. I’ve been repeatedly underwhelmed by every album since, but not with this one. Maybe it’s because I expected to be underwhelmed? I don’t know, I can just hear the delight they took in making the album. It’s creative in a new way, like without all the avant garde stuff of the 80’s.

The only song I’m not a fan of on the album is Devotion to a Dream, really wish You Never Know was there in its place, but I must say even the little guitar solos and organ riffs remind me of something Grateful Dead-ish and it made me smile. Good times, still grateful Phish is doing their thing. Excited to be able to catch a few shows this summer. Much looking forward to that. Hope you all are doing well.

I was downloading an episode of House of Cards and this was the captcha:

And Phish Tour starts up again in about 10 days … oh yea!

My 20th anniversary is looming. 7/10. That means I’ve been seeing Phish half of my life. I wish they were playing a show on that day. I think I will commemorate by listening to the show and reflecting on how it altered the course of my life in the best way.

I always think about that date! For me it’s 12/29, and I got to see 12/29/94 i.e. LP20 on my four year anniversary … last year I celebrated 50 shows on 12/28 (close enough!)

… can’t wait for Fuego vinyl, and it’s arriving with Overstep vinyl. I’m gonna geek right the fuck out. That Fish interview was gold. Wanna see 'em this summer, someone hire me to play hi profile gigs. I actually just passed on a copy of the Trey Anastasion CD, which I’ve never owned, for $3, cuz it felt wasteful somehow. Clearly I need more gigs.

GOLD CAPTCHA Pei-Yi!
