YEAH ED! That’s great man. I get uncomfortable talking to my heroes man. I have a couple times. I end up with a memory of awkwardness and black scribbling all over my stuff.
hell yeah Ed!! I knew plenty of people have met Mike at his shows but I had no idea he hung out at the merch table like that…good to know for the future
if I had known this before that show in Atlanta I definitely would’ve been there
Yeah i tried to meet him in ATL, but the table was swamped when i got there. Then i wanted to in Asheville as well, but my ride was leaving and couldn’t find edward.
No, and it kinda haunts me that I didn’t. But the thing is, you can kinda tell that he much prefers to talk about things and just hang out than sign autographs and take pictures, so I ended up not asking. Well, and I didn’t have a camera anyway, and my phone camera is awful and doesn’t transfer photos to the computer. I’d say if there’s one thing that makes me a want a nice phone, it’s the camera on them. Some of those phones take super high-resolution photos.
But man… so awesome. And also very awesome to come back to this thread and see all the responses, thanks guys! It really was a huge thing for me, and I’m gonna jump at every opportunity I get to hang out with Mike in the future. He is really an awesome, HUMBLE guy, and that is so incredibly refreshing. When you’re like him and have fans who worship you, I could see how it could go to your head, but when I told him certain things that he does that inspire my bass playing, he was genuinely touched and honored to hear it, and that is another reason that he is my HERO.
^ Yeah, I was probably being a bit of a cock-eyed optomist when I said that they might be spending the next six months after summer tour in the studio working on their masterpiece, ala Sgt Peppers. At this point I think I would be happy enough if the album isn’t composed entirely of Amanda Green songs.
^ I would guess Thompson Boling Arena in Knoxville because the hallways are orange…but that’s all I’m going by, and the lights were nuts that night based on some of the vids I’ve seen
^ Nope, I’ve told a lot of people on here this, they played Bonnaroo in 09, word reached to Chattanooga how sick they were, I slowly got turned on to em, and by the end of that summer I was streaming Red Rocks online and shit…I couldn’t wait to see me, and then Cincy 09’d…so I’m a pretty major n00b in the grand scheme of things, but that’s the way it has worked with most people my age cause they weren’t touring when we were getting into all our favorite music, so now the word is spreading the old fashion way- by touring
