Type Your Phish Thoughts

Not deliberately, my listening has also been reduced. Must be the shorter haircut… :unamused:

It’s mostly been some jazz - JJ Johnson, Art Blakely - jazzy '73, '74 Grateful Dead, Gordo’s band, Yes, and the Talking Heads. Any Phish these days is probably prog or cow funk. I can’t remember the last Antelope I listened to! Basically right now I prefer the Phish Destroys America Compilation to the Machine Gun Trey compilation (both are superb). I’ve started to appreciate silent driving too. Can’t rage the car every time.

All in all I just can’t wait for summer.

Then you’re doing it wrong.

Yeah, I’ve definitely gotten burnt out on Phish. I’ve pretty much been listening to solely Phish for the last two years (since I saw my first show on 6/18/2010). Gotta give myself a bit of a rest. We’ll see how it goes.

Truth.

If he were a true fan, he would have realized he has Fishman’s DNA on the ticket and he could clone him.

I bet serene1 = jon fishman

To be fair…you hand Fishman a piece of paper an he’s gonna put it on his tongue. As far as why he spit it out…he could tell it wasn’t real. Next time you just gotta add a few drops to the ticket first.

I don’t listen to phish very much at all. I’m usually in either a bluegrassy/dead mood or a funk/rap/or zappa mood for music. I kind of feel like I’ve heard almost everything from phish. The songs have gotten tiring for me to listen to over and over on tape. I have a few songs on my shuffle including the miami tweezer which I blast while skiing a lot. but I never listen to whole shows anymore unless its the current tour. (but I’d still probably skip some songs  ). that’s a change for me I guess, but I’m still really psyched about getting to see some shows in about two months. being at a show is a whole different ballgame obviously.

You’re fired. Clean out your desk.

i listen to phish maybe twice or thrice a week. too much good music out there to limit yourself to phish, the dead, or jam music in general.

I listen to one show pretty much every day because I spend 3 hours in the car every day. I listen to the first set of a show on my way to work, then a second set on the way home. I usually listen to other music during the day when I’m at my computer working (mostly jazz, classical, and some other type of music that I don’t know how to classify…Tortoise-ish music). I’m not saying Phish is so much better than all other music that it’s all you should listen to, it’s just that whenever I get burned out from Phish it only takes me about a few hours of listening to other music before I feel like listening to them again.

I hardly listen to any Phish these days. I rarely get too adventurous about my listening habits, mainly because I live a somewhat overwhelmed life I guess. But I have huge amounts of Phish, and have spent huge amounts of listening time on them. It’s at the point with Phish, as well as so many other artists I love, that I can only stay “into them” for so long before I start getting tired of them again.

But during that phase when I AM really into it, I’m SO into it that I get anxious for one show to wrap up so I can start listening to another one. Sometimes I wish I could process listening to multiple shows at once.

But yeah, right now I haven’t really listened much … taking a break. Although I did listen to the Grand Pecking Order twice recently, still awesome.

this is the exact thing for me, set one on the way in, set two on the way home, miles davis all day at work.

If I am in the car, it is usually either Phish or the radio. If you can find a good radio station, it is the best (which I have when I am home from school). I think that would be my favorite way to listen to music. Someone who knew my exact music taste and then just made a radio station for me. It would be that and then a bunch of Phish or Dead shows.

Try yourself some Pandora or shuffle on an mp3 player.

Everytime i think of Phish i wanna cry. My summer plans have most likely been cancelled due to my recent arrest          :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: . FUCK THE POLICE. :imp: aaahhhh fuck this

Pandora is close but it doesn’t do it. Cause usually I wanna mix it up, have some random artist in there. It tends to play the same kinda stuff, just different songs by 10-20 artists. I know you can add artists but Pandora isn’t nearly as good as a good radio station.

Shuffle on mp3 is usually what I do. I throw like 800 songs in a playlist so they’re what I like, and then throw it on shuffle. But still, you won’t get songs you have never heard on your on itunes, cause you bought or downloaded them all.

Nope, I am needy, and want that awesome imaginary dj who know exactly what I am in the mood for ALL THE TIME!

last.fm is pretty awesome. i like it better than pandora. it helps me discover new artists constantly. check out the sun araw or skyramps last.fm station. great amibent/psych music.

The Quick Mix on Pandora is my favorite, it scans between all of your favorite channels.

I distinctly remember doing the Meatstick dance in a dream I had two nights ago.
