I really appreciate Phish’s streamlined “strictly business” live production. U2 (who I can’t fucking stand) is playing here at MSU in June at the football stadium. In order to get the stage onto the field they have to actually remove whole fucking walls from the stadium. Um…how many people can there possibly be in U2? Four? Five? I mean how much fucking room does Bono precisely need to run around and talk about how he is the most awesome person on the face of the planet? Seriously if a football field/stadium is not big enough to fit your production you’re doing it wrong 
That right there^ … so right. No bullshit. Phish’s antics are so much more palatable because they’re not dumbed down like every other concert act … You don’t get the cheerleader frontman going, “I CAN’T HEAR YOU!!” except when they’re totally busting on those types of acts (Icculus! “This is Red Rocks! This is the Edge!!” ha!).
