Type your thoughts (Part 1)

Yeah physical pain is the worst. It makes you depressed, and the depression makes you unproductive. That generally makes for poor performance overall. I have bad ankles, which I sprain all the damn time, so I am in pain on a fairly regular basis. :problem: Luckily my ankles are fine at the moment, but watch, I bet I’ll go sprain one today since I typed this.

Right now I am sitting on my awesome new covered porch watching the rain fall. It is truly a wonderful feeling. Even though I’m typing a paper (interspersed with OKP time), I am still totally content. Something about watching it rain but being totally comfortable and dry is just so relaxing.

Holt is hurt right now too. No trauma. He woke up fine Sunday morning, but as the day progressed, he started getting excruciating pain from his neck to his scapula (shoulder blade for those non-anatomy types) on his right side. Says it feels like some one is stabbing him constantly.

He can’t work, hell, he can’t move without yelling. He is a pretty tough guy but he’s almost in tears constantly.

He went to a chiropractor today, but they wouldn’t touch him without x-rays which he couldn’t afford. So he came to my office and I took them for him.

Problem was, it took a while to get the xrays done and get the results from the radiologist. So the chiropractor couldn’t work him back in until tomorrow mid morning.

I hope they can help him tomorrow. He’s so pitiful. He’s sleeping in the guest room tonight so he doesn’t wake me up all night like lastnight. It just breaks my heart to see him this way. My poor hubs. Maybe I should go check on him because I know he’s in too much pain to sleep and damn if I can get him to take anything for the pain.

its almost football time in the South…

i can’t stand UTK…and i’m not a Bama fan either…but thats some funny shit

Every alarm clock should come with this song built in to be used in lieu of that horrible beeping sound. The world would be a much better place with everyone having their day start off with this…

That would cause me to lay in bed on repeat all day.

Hiyyaa!

Dude Will come on, this is a family establishment.

Well… that is just a normal day.

I’ve lived in my house for over three years and I finally decided to try this place called “El Burrito Loco” down the street for lunch and realized: I’ve wasted 3 years of my life.

I had to snap this photo of a taco joint we went to by the new amphitheater by Woodstock.

edit- was drawing a blank… Bethel Woods.

^I like his taco face.

Just got tix for the pixies in Charlotte. They’re playing asheville too.

Just bought a pop in a vending machine.

Thought to myself, damn if I know the last time I had a Sunkist.

I still don’t know, because Lipton Iced Tea came out.

:imp:

Found this on the asscrack of the internet whilest looking for more info on the “consequences” guy. Worth a read.

There are 3 topics with Mars in the title on the first page of non-Phish discussion.

^
That’s a bit excessive…particularly because none of them have to do with Mars Bars.

Up this early on a Sunday to work. I haven’t worked on a Sunday since 2004. Double-time is good and all, because I need the skrill for my move, but…

Just finished getting Makenzie packed up for her first time at summer camp. Taking her in about an hour and a half.

Not sure if I can do this! She’ll be gone for 2 weeks and I won’t be able to hear her voice unless there’s an emergency until I pick her up on the 31st.

Apparantly the camp had problems with kids wanting to go home, so they decided to stop letting kids talk to their parents while at camp. We can write eachother letters, but no calls :frowning:

I’m trying to be cool. I know she is going to have TONS of fun. It’s a very active camp and I know she’s going to love it…she better love it. I paid out the friggin’ nose for it!

She will be spending the next two weeks swimming, hiking, riding horses, doing archery and riflery, going rafting, playing games and sports, etc.
Makenzie is a VERY independent and grown-up child, so I don’t worry about her being alright. She’ll be running the place by the time she leaves, ha. I do however have serious doubts that I can make it that long! ::fights urge to stand in front of her bed and watch her sleep::

Ollie, Makenzie would have never become that independent and grown up child if you hadn’t been making the tough decisions like this every day leading up to this one. You obviously know this is good for her. You also know this is good for you too, so all you need to do is keep that in mind as your emotions try to convince you otherwise.

Good time for you and Holt to do some serious bonding. When Makenzie is a mom of her own, it’ll be you and Holt, so start making that relationship stronger. Life’s a bitch, but of everything that I’ve read about you, I’m convinced that you’re one of the lucky few who know how to live it well.

They don’t let campers call home at my kid’s camp either-- which I think is a great thing, since we sent them there to become independent! He definitely grew up a lot every time we sent him… he always went for a month.

Now he’s a counselor.

Thanks Fone

She’s off and settled. They let parents stay for a cook out, so we got to chill together for a while.

I think she’s older than all the kids in her cabin. She just finished 2nd grade, but she’ll be 9 in September. Late birthday strikes again. She was in the cabins by the playground with all the little kids which kinda sucks for her. Most of her friends are a year or two older than her so she definitely wasn’t thrilled about that.

Luckily they split the campers into tribes so they get mixed with campers of all ages to compete against eachother in games each night. Maybe she will make some friends on her level in her tribe instead of her cabin.

Anyway, I know she’s in good hands. Now I just have to find something to do with my time. Haven’t been to Yoga in like 3 months which I have dearly missed, so I think I’ll hit that today, then chill with my hubs. Baby steps.
