Type your thoughts (Part 1)

Ha when I was a pre-teen I was all about Donna!

Then I got older.

off work in 30 minutes, gotta finish packing, pick up the fourwheeler, then camping till monday.

lotsa beer, green, riding and shooting.

and by shoot i mean this,

that tannerite when shot, creates the sonic boom, but releases only water vapor.

That looks like a man hunter’s gun.

You know how in most relationships the woman has to convince the man they should have a baby? Well not mine. My husband is trying his best to knock me up though I have explained and explained to him why we can’t afford it right now. Here goes another month of wondering/waiting.
::cheers::

There’s a dog that won’t stop barking nearby…kinda feel like Elaine in that Seinfeld episode. Also kinda wanna make sure it’s alright… seein’ !!! and the Rapture tomorrow nite, super stoooked

I find that life imitates Seinfeld imitating life on a very frequent basis. Just last week, my sister was talking about new baking molds she had seen that make only muffin tops and her friend mentioned that her kids rip muffins apart and only eat the tops. Obviously, the first thing that came to mind was “Top 'O the Muffin…To You!”

^ haha nice. Ya I think this happens more than usual, at least once a day I find myself in a Seinfeldesque sitiation. I love it.

^Same here!

God damn I love Seinfeld, and when I have a Seinfeld moment (or witness one, it doesn’t have to happen directly to me) anywhere, it brightens my day!

Doojer’s mom went to an art exhibit a couple months ago and everybody kept looking at her strangely. She found why when she came upon the naked statue that looked just like her. Made me think of the episode with the Elaine look alike mannequin. Oh and his mom’s name is Elaine :open_mouth:

Well… labor day is tomorrow and we officially had no summer in Santa Monica! Where the hell is the global warming, man? I’m freezing!! :wtf:

This is always a bittersweet day for me. Summer has ended, but another beautiful season is upon us. This is probably the best time of year in the Midwest climate-wise. Oh yeah, and fall tour. Happy Labor Day everyone!

it is. fortunately tho you cant hunt with it in the state of IL. which im all for, it would be no fun to spot a deer 400 yards away and take it down. half the fun is calling it in to you. its only value is pure fun and entertainment

I just had to chug a scalding hot cup of coffee because I couldn’t bring it into the computer lab. Now I have to sit here tweaking out with a burnt tongue listening to Apu talk about “Web 2.0”.

Big day in Chicago politics.

Mayor Daley announced he won’t run for another term.
Dude’s been mayor for 21 years…should be an interesting election.

^The Chicago Machine rolls on…

   That just cracked me up big time.

As “Yankee Rose” by David Lee Roth was going thru my head this morning, I realized how trippy that second verse is.

When she walks, watch, the sparks will fly, firecrackin’ on the fourth of July.
No sad songs tonight, something’s in the air.
She’s a real state of independence, so pretty when her rockets glare,
Still provin’ any night that her flag is still there.

She … walks??

:wtf:

i dont think this is safe for work…or youtube.

also. NOT FOR THE WEAK OF HEART.

aaaannd its gone

just scored floor seats for Bob Dylan’s fall tour opener at Nova Southeastern University just outside of Ft Lauderdale.

haven’t seen him since pre-Modern Times. He hasn’t been to FLA since then either and that was 2006.

psyched right now- the show is falling about a week and a half after Neil Young (solo acoustic) and a week and a half before Phish Charleston.

gonna be a good month for my relationship with live music.

^that sounds like a super month of music.

I think I am becoming more and more anti-internet, anti media, anti-information. For all of the benefits that the instantaneous exchange of information from all around the world provides, the increased human awareness and analysis of data that didn’t exist a mere fifteen years ago, I do believe will eventually consume and destroy us. I believe this mostly because we’re not given the time to adequately digest and reflect on what we take in, because the next bit of crap flows in to flood our attention almost immediately.

I mean why should the moronic intentions of a backwoods, toothless, motherhumpin bible pounding preacher from some dinkass town in Florida have such impact upon the world and it’s emotional stability? Any half intelligent person would allow this nutbag to say what he wants to the fifty or so other mindless twits that want to listen to him, with all due defference to his individual rights, but you’d have to agree that 99.9999 percent of the rest of thinking America wouldn’t give him a second thought.

And now, generals and secretaries of state and media outlets all over the world have given this screwball much more credibility than he genuinely deserves. I don’t need to know this stuff, and he’s just one of a hundred millions like stories that come streaming in whenever I turn on some electronic device. And I’m an adult, supposedly, and I’m having trouble with this stuff. What is it doing to our children?

I can see in some respects it will make them sharper, stronger, intellectually, but what about their emotions, what about their souls? Parents need to be more mindful of the impact of this influx of uncensored, unbridled information, and it’s not just about sex and violence. It’s more about volume, and proper digestion and reflection.

I’m a little more scared for us this morning. I need to say something to those of you with kids to be aware of what too much information transfer can do without considerable nuturing from parents. These things impact them in ways that they are not able to communicate back to you, except maybe as bizarre symptoms. Hold your kids close and keep them talking to you. Stay open to them so they can be open too.
