Type your thoughts (Part 1)

I was gonna post this in the Random Pic thread, but this is too heady to get passed by up there.

I say you blow the fuckers up!

I just saw Roger Water The Wall.

Wow is all I can say.

Do not miss this opportunity.

pre-show

intermission.

Hey You.

I had epic floor seats.

If I was Brett, I could have touched the piggy.

oink.

Run Like Hell

And some from my buddy who was in a different section:

Young Lust

Another Brick in the Wall pt. 2

I can’t remember for certain… but this was around Young Lust I believe…

^ Wow sweet pics.

How are Snowy White and GE Smith with the band??

Snowy White was very subdued, never really taking a lead.

G.E.Smith only took a few solos.

I had to look this name up, but Dave Kilminster took most of the leads and solos, and he was amazing. One slight mix up in the second solo to Comfortably Numb, but he quickly jumped back on board. Very subtle.

Robbie Wyckoff took all of Gilmours lyrics, and he was PHENOMENAL.

Only thing I noticed Roger missed was the intro scream to Run Like Hell, but I also noticed his mic cut out for those seconds. Maybe with his age this was a “planned miscue”.

well, sister and 9 month old nephew were hit by a car on Monday around 4:30. she was standing on the driver side of my moms car getting the diaper bag out and the car came along and hit her. he was not drunk, was distracted by his own two kids in the back seat. they went to the e.r. the little one only had BAD road rash, no brain damage or spinal injuries. sister has some torn ligaments in her right leg, and 6 different puncture wounds on her legs and back; but were both discharged last night. ended up going to the hospital around 5. stayed all night in my sisters room, while my mom stayed with Isaac. only got 5 hours of in and out sleep in a hospital chair, and was there all day yesterday until they were discharged. all in all Isaac is gonna have a swollen face for a while and they will both be in some pain, but will recover.

below is a video of isaac in his room. gets a close up of his face around the 2 minute mark

Oh, and Greg Giraldo died. :frowning:

Dude… glad to hear they are alright. Scary story!!

^^In the words of the famous Harry Carey–Holy Cow! You and yours are in my prayers, Rusty!

^ Sorry to hear, they are in my prayers.
In one week I will be in Austin hangin’ out and chillin’ two days before Phish at ACL!

I found a DVD of one of the Chicago Roger Waters shows…

Awesome.

Anybody know of a good free software to play Blu-Ray?

R.I.P.

He was one of my present-day favorites, always great on the roasts.

thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. they are home and doing ok. sisters leg hurts from time to time, and little guy gets an order of french cries every time he bumps his face. but other than that every things working out.
thanks again everyone.

I find it so bizarre and backwards when a woman insists on being called by her married name i/e when I call and ask for Joyce, instead of saying, “This is Joyce” she would say, “This is Mrs. Black”. 99.9% of the women I talk during the work week will give me their first name, but there’s always one or two who don’t and it weirds me out a little. The only time I ever say, “This is Mrs. Pearce” is when somebody specifically asks for her.

:wtf:

I think calling people by their last names is weird in general. I always called my teachers by their first names in school.

always?! i loved it when teachers were cool with the first name basis thing…didn’t have many of those though, not necessarily because I don’t think they would’ve been cool with it, but because that’s just how it worked…

^Yeah, I went to a bunch of hippie, liberal private schools. :sunglasses:

My first grade teacher was Gale. My 5th grade teacher was Anne. Had Richard for freshman history and Natalie for senior English… you get the point.

And the Syracuse U fine arts dept. was the same way. No “Professor such and such” just Lizzie, Gerard, Tony, Marie, etc…

That’s the way it should be, IMHO.

You know what’s weird is how all athletes and celebrities are known by their full name. It’s not Angelina…it’s Angelina Jolie. It’s not Tiger. It’s Tiger Woods.

You know, I think some of that first-name vs last-name basis thing is a function of geography. In the South, I have only met 3 or 4 teachers who wanted to be called by their last name. However, when I lived in Massachusetts, they thought you were weird to call them by their last name. Took me awhile to get used to that. Also, in the South, if you curse in class, be prepared for some fallout. In Mass., it’s a normal thing that happens all the time. That holds true to this day, at least in my experience.
