Type your thoughts (Part 1)

There’s a first time for everything…I never realize how GREAT we have it on this board. This other board I hangout on sometimes (basicly for Bluegrass Lovers or people attending Planet Bluegrass events) I put some tickets up for trade. I was trying to trade some Yonder Mountain String Band and Emmitt-Nershi Band tickets for a Railroad Earth ticket. Some sack of shit wanted the tickets I was about to get traded and trolled the fucking board telling everyone I was a “scalper” and not to sell/or trade with me.

Real classy individual. :lolno: Anyway, I told a mod and they throwing his ass off, but nevertheless, my chances of getting this ticket now are pretty fucked thanks to one slice of jealous shit that wanted the ticket I was going to get…

THANKS FOR KICKING ASS AND BEING REAL OKP!!! That shit would NEVER fly here!!

Trying to figure out which one I care about less… The Lakers, William & Kate’s Wedding or Obama’s Birth Certificate…

I’m an equal opportunity hater, and therefore care as little as possible about all three of those things.

Shit shit shit…so, this just occurred to me. I don’t know how many of you are familiar with this news story, but it was posted in the gaming thread, which no one looks at, but like 5 of us.

So, I called up my credit card company on Wednesday night and they said they were going to cancel my card immediately and send me out a new one within 6-9 days. No problem right? Wrong…big fucking problem. UIC tickets go on sale tomorrow and I don’t have a fucking credit card. Bah…I’m gonna have to come up with something.

I really miss my dog today :frowning:

A very curious audio coincidence happened this morning as I working out in the yard, weeding one of the gardens. I had brought out the wireless AR speakers I purchased last month and set them up on the deck. I placed a couple of “Your Hit Pararde” CDs to randomize in the player. For you youngins, the Hit Parade was a recording media gimic to sell music, and each week, one radio favoirite was honored as being number one on the “Hit Parade”. So this set of CDs that I have from 1943 through 1956 contain the top radio hits from those years.

Long story longer, while I was out working under the trees a Tufted Titmouse alit nearby and started singing. He sounded like this only louder and better:

while at the same time, the following number one hit from 1956, “Singing the Blues” started playing. You dont have to listen to the whole song unless you like it, but I swear, I believe the bird and the song were in the same key and playing together as if it were meant to be:

Start the song and then click the wav at the same time, and you should see what I mean.

I was eight when this song came out, and I really liked it, although I don’t believe I had a copy.

Just got my computer fixed (spilled a beer on the keyboard) and saw the New Pornographers last night. Quality 24 hours.

Saxophone is grand.

Working on getting some internet (and money) going in a few weeks here… Was going to pay it off this week, but ended paying off some other shit first. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to spend all of my hours on the pa, and not just a few minutes in passing!

A BLT without mayonnaise is still a BLT it just doesn’t taste quite the same.

Osama Bin Laden is Dead… :open_mouth:

Crazy

^Call me old and crutchety, but I don’t believe this story for a minute, especially this part: “Just hours after President Obama announced that Usama bin Laden was killed by U.S. forces in Pakistan, the Al Qaeda leader’s body is buried at sea, marking the end of the worldwide manhunt that began nearly a decade ago.”

Buried at sea? Why the rush to get rid of the body? Even more so, for someone who at the beginning of his notorious career was so anxious to have himself videoed at every turn, why was he suspiciously ‘off the air’ for almost ten years? Sorry, it’s going to take more than a media frenzy to convince me differently that the guy wasn’t killed early on in the Afghan war, when they were daisy chaining every suspected hideout in the country.

Better they should bury our whole political system at sea.

Islamic tradition calls for the burial within 24 hrs that’s why they were quick to dump him.

I heard they do have photo/video evidence of the body and it will be made public.

Get ready for a shit storm of epic proportions

I was going to say the same thing as Piper there. They followed Islamic traditions as close as they could with the burial at sea. Although, in my humble opinion, there was no burial so much as they just threw him off the side of a boat with concrete blocks chained to his ankles.
As for no photos, I’m quite sure that they will surface as time goes on.
And all of this seems plausible. I mean, there has been issues with the Pakistani government and their relations with the US when it comes to how much “help” they were giving. It always seemed that the Pakistani government would say that they would help in what ever way they could, but when it came time to help, they would always back away and say that they couldn’t do what the US was asking. No troops on the ground in Pakistan? It was proven that OBL was jumping back and forth from Pakistan and Afghanistan, but the Pakistani government denied that they were allowing this to happen. Really?!
And now, instead of hiding in the cave system in the rough terrain of Pakistan, moving by cover of darkness, never staying in the same place for more than a few hours, we find out that he’s staying in a mansion in a fortified compound that is a stone’s throw from a Pakistani military training facility!
C’mon! Sounds to me like there is a serious lack of “help” from the Pakistani government when it came to OBL.
I don’t know, call my blind-eyed optimist, but I think there might be some truth to how this all played out. Some of the details might be skewed, but I think that we actually got him, and after almost 10 years of being on the lamb, it was all over in 40 minutes!
Now it’s time to watch out for all the crazies out there to blow themselves up in the name of OBL.

^yeah…25 million (and flight to anywhere) is no reason to help. :unamused:
Just shows you it could have been done years ago if we just said fuck Pakistan.

well good for them for not being rats. I watch that show mobsters on A&E, and every show ends with some boss doing life cause some PoS got busted and squealed sending the cops into someone elses business. You kinda gotta respect saying FU to a 25 mill reward, but I guess if he’s dead someone finally decided to get paid.

I think the US gov’t should release a photo of a dead guy that looks kinda like bin laden just for shits and giggles

i think there’s a show on nat geo called taboo where every episode ends with that segment
