Type your thoughts (Part 1)

Ok, so luckily I wasn’t around for this…

But they drove a fucking space shuttle through Los Angeles. Great idea, huh? They chopped down over 400 trees along low income streets; took down power lines, leaving hundreds without power; shut down sidewalks in front of already struggling businesses; closed down major traffic routes and told residents along the route to stay inside and put their cars someplace besides their driveways or streets if they didn’t want to risk damage from the shuttle wings.

Of course, they could have just taken off the wings and reassembled them when it got to the museum and avoided all of this… but… wait for it… that would have risked damaging the shuttle’s heating panels! :astonished: God forbid, they damage the heating panels of a completely defunct and non-operational shuttle!

The L.A. city council never ceases to boggle my mind.

^^That’s one of those stories that starts to make my blood boil thinking about it and then just have to shake my head at for sanity’s sake.

People in the NE feel the earthquake tonight? I was at work… around 7p things were shaking… I was ready to get under the desk… :open_mouth:

^We had a fun one when I was in Mexico city earlier this year that I got to experience from the 25th floor of my hotel. Good times!

On a side note… travelling for more than a couple weeks fucking blows. That is my thought for today.

^well from your pic in Brasil travelling doesn’t look too bad…

The earthquake was pretty cool… considering it was just a little rattle.

^Yeah… like I said in that thread, not a bad view. But I’d trade that view for a home-cooked meal and the chance to sleep in my own bed with my wife in my arms in a heartbeat.

I didn’t feel any earthquake. Didn’t even know about it.

^not sure if it reached that far west, it was centered in southern ME.

I just used this old tune I wrote in high school with my friend Scott as a timer for Rubik’s Cube.

I’m fartin’ around in my house just havin a beer after a good weekend, and for whatever reason the Rubik’s is out, and I’ve been solving it a lot of times this past week or so, just cuz. I learned it several years after it was a big deal.

Well I just timed myself to “Had a Zit”, not a bad little number, from 1988 I believe (I woulda been like 14) … here wtf: Had a Zit < that’s me on guitar, Scott on vocal, my brother Mike on drums at what, 12 probably.

… anyway I got it done before the track ended!

Cube solv’d in 2:02 :ugeek:

^highly impressive!

I’m still sitting in the waiting room at the dr for what was supposed to be an 11:00 appt. it’s one of those offices with multiple docs and nurse practitioners, but they only call 1 person in like every 15-20 minutes! What is going on back there?! It’s now just me & one guy who haven’t been called in. I just heard him say “Jesus” to himself twice in like 2 mins and he’s already paced the waiting room once, so I’ll root for him to go first. It’s a nice day though and I’m off, sO I’d love to get out of here at some point.

I know you’re all out there, dying to know who got called first. Well, it wasn’t me. Still sitting here with a full bladder & antsy behind. There is an elderly couple in the chairs across from me and the guy is so loving and affectionate towards his wife it almost brings tears to my eyes. I want to hug him.

Still sitting here in the waiting room. I made this appt back in march-April. Somewhere in the meantime, they sent me a letter saying the doc had left the practice and my appt would be with an NP at 11 instead of 1, when the original apppt was made. I kept the reminder card on my fridge all this time and changed the time on the card when I got the letter. When I went to ask where the bathroom was, the lady asked “did you know your appt was at 1?” I never remember appointments and the one time I’m on top of my shit, I get screwed over. I could have gotten so much shit done if I had known, but I’m sitting here for 2 hours instead. I’m really pissed and I want to leave. I know things could be much worse, but thats not helping right now.

^sucks. Waiting rooms should be mandated by federal law to have complimentary bongs and improved lighting.

^+x Kevin, I think you ought to rearrange and use that song, it’s a hoot, one that everyone can relate to.

And Katie, are ya still waitin’? (almost sounds like a song title)

Waited in a waiting room for about five hours this morning while Livy, our eldest gkid, had her tonsils removed. Damn surgery was done in this outpatient surgery center on the first floor of a typical office park instead of a hospital. They’re doing all kinds of minor surgeries in these places now around here, and for the most part it seems to be quite efficient. She went in at 630 this morning and went home a little after 11. I was pretty impressed.

^finally got out around 1:35. Two and a half hours for a five minute appt. Guess that makes up for the less than 5 min total one I had a few weeks ago. Was such a beautiful day that I couldn’t help but lighten up when I finally got out. And now a short work week!

Hey guys and ghouls…sorry I haven’t been 'round these parts much lately. I’m constantly checking in, but I just feel I have little to contribute (to the Pa, or otherwise :frowning: ) lately. I just want you all to know I still love y’all.

Have a blast at MSG New Years Pa. Wish I could be there with ya.

Hey it happens … I just had a spell of posting less, then I spammed the board the other night.

Actually do any of us really contribute more than an ordinary amount? I figure most of what most people post on message boards or say in life, or even do in life, is of a value that is completely relative, subject to all sorts of conditions. I post all the damn time and it’s not because I feel I have anything to contribute really, I’m just kind of a chatty bastard.

Good to see you though … shit, I love it when people like, come back and post. Rather than the ol’, post a lot then leave, and never ever come back routine.
